I was recently running a scenario and the following issue came up. The player in question was playing a rogue (level 6) with the Bomber Rogue Talent (page 7 of the Ranged Tactics Toolbox). During the course of play, the player in question revealed that he had purchased (selected) 2 Alchemist discoveries- smoke and stink bomb.
It is my understanding that per the Ranged Tactics Toolbox, that a Rogue who has the Bomber talent can then purchase via a Rogue Talent the Bomber's Discovery (Su). As written, it appears to only be purchasable one time. I felt very comfortable making a decision which removed the stink bomb discovery from being usable, but the amount of contention I received from this and another player present made me want to ask this question via the PFS forums to double-check my ruling. The player in question was adamant that this issue had been discussed and an official answer given by one of the powers that be. I have searched the FAQ, other threads and haven't found any direct answers to this question.
Thanks...

Mostly just dotting to see if someone does have a link to a dev comment. But something like this isn't going to get FAQed because it's from a player companion. So, with that you probably have to go with what it says in the supplement, and from that you made the right call. You can only select the talent once, so you can only ever get one bomb discovery with that talent.

To be fair, they now have a FAQ category for things like player companions, and I think one actually has been FAQed, but the chances of this getting enough FAQ hit to get to the top of the que is extremely low.
That said, take that talent, and then use that talent to qualify for the extra discovery feat.

Won't work. The talent gives you a discovery, not the discovery class feature.
Bomber’s Discovery (Su) (Ranged Tactics Toolbox pg. 7 (Amazon)): A rogue with this talent gains an alchemist’s discovery that modifies a bomb. A rogue must have the bomber rogue talent to select this talent.
Extra Discovery
You have made a new alchemical discovery.
Prerequisites: Discovery class feature.
Benefit: You gain one additional discovery. You must meet all of the prerequisites for this discovery.
Special: You can gain Extra Discovery multiple times.

Rules as written, it can only be taken once.
Just for the record, here's the actual rule, something anyone should link whenever they say something is against the rules:
A rogue cannot select an individual talent more than once.
Feats, for instance, don't have that stipulation as far as I know.

So the real question is does he qualify for the feat.
My personal opinion is that he doesn't. He doesn't have discovery as a class ability. However if you choose to bend that slightly (as above you can see a few would ) then it would cost him a feat. So be sure he uses a feat to alter it.
It's not going to break your game. He said hopefully.

They come close:
Benefit: What the feat enables the character (“you” in the feat description) to do. If a character has the same feat more than once, its benefits do not stack unless indicated otherwise in the description.
You can have a feat more than once, but you can only benefit from it once unless it says otherwise.
