Advice

Howdy.

so given the newer up dated version of the sound striker. I was looking and thinking about designing one.

SO far pure bard seems the best.. but...

I was wondering if anyone knew of some good prestige class that continues bardic performance.
and any feats that would be good for bardic performance, either one that helps the special attack ones or other stuff in general.

I'm hoping to make one who uses sonic attack spells, and the sound striker's special performances. Probably be dex based with some random weapon in case.

So suggestions?

Originally I had been thinking about pathfinder chronicler. Becauase of Epic tales. I originally thought that it would let anyone else use the sonic blasts. weird words or wordstrike. but the wording makes me think that maybe they can't..
I put both on the bottom. I'm wondering if ya'll think that it won't work or if epic tales would give them the ability to use the supernatural ability. At least the lv 8 improvement almost certainly works.

Would work nice with the buffs i still had though I guess

Then I realized.. it woudl effectivly stop all my spell progression and i'm not sure what that class gives would be worth that. I would love that class so much if it didn't have those summons and had spells instead.

epic tales:
Epic Tales (Su): A 4th-level Pathfinder chronicler can inscribe a tale so evocative and so moving that it conveys the effects of bardic music through the written word. To create an epic tale requires the Pathfinder chronicler to expend a number of rounds of her bardic performance ability equal to twice the duration of the epic tale (maximum duration of 10 rounds), and any relevant Performance skill check is made with Profession (scribe) instead. An epic tale affects only the reader, but it grants all the benefits that would normally apply for hearing a performance. A Pathfinder chronicler may apply the effects of any feats that affect bardic music to her epic tales. An epic tale retains its supernatural potency for 1 day per class level. It requires 1 hour to inscribe, a full-round action to activate, and has a duration equal to 1/2 the number of bardic performance rounds expended during its creation. Once activated, an epic tale's magic is consumed.

weird words:
“At 6th level the bard can start a performance that is always a standard action to speak up to one word per 4 bard levels laden with sonic energy. Each word deals 4d6 points of sonic damage as a ranged touch attack with a range of 30 feet. The bard adds his charisma modifier on damage rolls with weird words. Multiple words that strike the same target stack into a single powerful attack, applying energy resistance and bonuses on damage rolls only once. The bard can target all words at the same or different targets, but he unleashes all words simultaneously. Each word costs 1 round of bardic performance.”

Not sure what the community thinks but I am in the same position as yourself, and after trying many different combinations I've come to the conclusion that just sticking with bard is the best.

Why not also take the Duettist archetype, so that your familiar can use Weird Words as well?

It looks good but that eats your rounds sooo very quickly. I'm not sure if it'll be worth it.. i was looking at it though and considering it.

I was also thinking about thundercaller.

THey seem to have longer lasting effects of performances.

Since the lv 3 thundercaller thing's sonic boom scales pretty well in damage and aoe.
and then the thundercaller's call lighting can be amusing if i'm reading it right... Instead of the normal spell need for standard action, it sounds like aslong as the performance is maintained it auto calls a lighting.

SO with lingering performance. You could start it as a quick action. end it and use the thudnercall sonic blast or something.

and thundecall would be amusing as all hell as a pathfidner chronicler
since i think.. the epic tales would still work as it allows the person to call down and not directly targets..
So basically you could spend an "off day" before a trip... and make all the Epic tales of thundercalling (assuming it works) or just buffs.

I love sound striker but thudnercaller seems more efficient. baring electrical resistance.

Since sound striker costs a performance per 4d6 damage; and only one iteration of CHA damage. and no way to increase it... It seems like it sadly won't be very effective at building a sonic blaster.

THundercaller, with sonic blaster spells, seems like it would work best in the world.

Though sound striker with lingering performance could make a pretty fun character, using lingering to provide some buffs as a move of swift action then ending it and blasting with the standard. as a sorta support and not
