Holy Ice Weapon Composite Longbow

I'm building a ranged Inquisitor (Sanctified Slayer) and plan on using a bow created by Holy Ice Weapon as my main weapon. Swift Action Bane + Move Action Studied Target + Standard Action HIW seems like a decent first round of combat.

But what I'm wondering is if I can use Holy Ice Weapon to create a Composite Longbow of STR rating appropriate to me (provided I worship a deity whose favored weapon is the bow).

I don't see any reason why you couldn't. Unfortunately while it looks possible, I don't know how useful it would be, since the spell lacks the "This weapon confers these special properties upon it's ammunition" clause that most magical weapons do. As a result, you would only get the extra damage if you physically hit someone with the bow.

Does Strength rating count as a "special property"? Or are you referring to the possibility that getting Bane from Inquisitor might not apply to my arrows?

He means the cold damage and holy water effect from HIW

That's super unfortunate. It also means crossbows won't work either. So if I ever do get to building around HIW it'll need to be a melee build.

I don't think the intent of the spell is to not work properly with ranged weapons - I would guess it's an oversight. If this is a home game, just check with your GM and they will probably allow it to produce holy ice arrows that melt after being fired.

Holy Ice Weapon would be better used creating a Holy Ice Arrow for your purpose; the DM may be lenient and allow you to create a quiver of 50 such Arrows, however, considering how the intent of the spell is, and that you usually enchant 50 arrows as a whole, rather than a single weapon (though in some cases the individual arrows ARE enchanted, so... yeah).

On a slightly different note:
Don't use swift action bane on the first round if you don't fire. It's rounds per day and you shouldn't waste it.
