What type of bonus is an unchained barbarian's rage bonuses?

Rules Questions

The title says it all. I like the idea of not dropping dead as easily and not having to pop in and out of rage every round. I've heard arguments both ways that it's either still meant to be morale or that it is untyped. My GM said I could play the class if I can find a more official answer as he is a very RAW kind of guy. So does anyone know which it is?

Well... it doesn't say. That's untyped. ^_^

As for why, I believe it's to allow stacking with other sources, such as good hope or the Flagbearer feat. It might have also been to reduce the synergy with courageous weapons; speculating there.

As for official answers, your best bet is to ask this gentleman.

Hope that helps. ^_^

Mark stresses that he does not give official answers, and that his answers are for his own games or what he suspects.

RAW, it's an untyped bonus.

There is an argument to be made that it may be intended to be morale bonus, given the class ability indomitable will, but there's a pretty good argument that the indomitable will text was just a mistake given that it's mostly copied over from the original barbarian.

I figured that it would be "official" enough for his GM. ^_^

RAW it's untyped, and my guess is RAI it's untyped too. Normal Barbarian can get a morale bonus to STR, and then a Morale bonus to attack (like Bless), and they would stack. Unchained wouldn't stack if both are morale bonus to attack, and I suspect that's why it's untyped

I do not give official answers. However, it's not typed in the text, and it was for sure intended to be untyped (if it was morale, it would fail to stack with like a bunch of common buffs, like heroism).

So ... Androids can be decent Unchained barbarians? Intriguing ...

Raging can't possibly be good for circuitry...

So now ghoul barbarians work? :D

You're just overclocking. :)

Wait so since it wasn't typed its untyped as well as being untyped since it has no type.......I honestly just noticed that.

You should get Mark started on the Not An Action action.

Ok, thanks for the answers and the idea for an overclocking android barbarian. I might not be able to use that idea for this game, but maybe in the future... :) I'll show my GM this thread and this should be enough to convince him it's untyped. Again, thank you.
