Making a wearable construct from scratch

Advice

Ok so I need help making a construct
I want it to be a original creature and not just a regular bestiary construct with the Construct Armor modification

So first how do I make a construct from scratch
second how do I determine the price
and finally how to bace a character around it

Thanks

1. Ask your GM. If you are the GM, here's a set of guidelines for making a monster. You're basically just making stuff up though.
2. Ask your GM. If you are the GM, wild guessing! No, seriously, there is no good way to price this. Whatever price you make is going to be a wild guess. For low-level golems it's 10k-20k, for higher level golems it's 100k+.
3. You don't. This is something that you need a whole lot of GM buy-in and even then basically the whole thing is going to have to be created before you can start. It also would take some huge amount of gold, so you can't do it unless you're starting at higher levels. The cheapest golem is 10,500 gp, I think. If you just want a "man and his pet" class Summoner is fine, if you want to wear your pet Synthesist covers that, but if you want a specially built suit of construct armor to base your character around... you're entirely in GM land. The Tinker is all about clockwork automata but it has no option for wearing them. The Machinesmith can actually make clockwork armor but there's no customization (except for normal for magic armor).

So, yeah, ask your GM to make something for you then work from there.

Assuming you can get your DM on board look at the craft construct feat.

General information on creating constructs can be found on the d20pfsrd. Apparently this information is available from Ultimate Magic, but I don't own that book, and it's not on the PRD as far as I can tell.

As for making a character based around the idea I'd say Eldritch Knight is thematic, magus grants free casting in armor so that's another option.

It's worth noting you can do this as a Synthesist Summoner (with flavortext) for free with no feat investment.

Quick suggestion: an Intelligent Item might work better as a wearable Construct, than an actual Construct would. Depending on what you want your Construct to be and do obviously.

I let one of my character did that once. He wanted to be iron man like so he made a wizard, but he rolled extremely low on everything, highest was 10. So I offered him to play as an Expert NPC class instead and he will eventually get a wearable construct. He can give me idea what he wants to do but I make the final call. He agreed and played as the boy in golem.

At level 1, the constructs count as medium armor. The player had to share damage with the golem 50/50, the golem has 5 health. While wearing the golem, his Strength and Dex are at 12 temporarily. He can not sleep in it unless he has Endurance. It is programmed to only act when the wearer moves. The wearer is proficient with Medium armor and shield.

As it goes on, he put his skills in craft to make it better, build changeable parts and upgrades to his golem. I balance the game so that he will not be too powerful in combat but durable enough to survive and make differences. Outside of combat, the player and his character is very smart so it all worked out fine. It was fun.

So I will say if you are GMing, just try to make sure everyone have their thing and can work together without one being very powerful while others are not.

If you are player, ask your GM if he thinks he can make it work, otherwise just tell him that you will have an intelligent armor instead. It's not as fun, but still different.
