Maybe should have posted this in a different forum section, trying here first.
Been working on this a long time. Have one game on here doing well, up to almost 4,000 gameplay posts. My original plan was to have multiple parties running around in the same sandbox though, and that is something I can't seem to execute without help.
Idea is to use a shared setting and all the gaming that takes place there impacts the setting for other players gaming there as well. Sort of like MMO's.
I originally tried recruiting for multiple parties and running them simultaneously myself and it is just too much work. Plus the games can loose momentum and die.
So I started thinking, what if it was done in much shorter bursts.
Everyone knows PFS works well in PbP. AP's and homebrew can work but they seem to struggle more.
I am looking for someone to help me out with this maybe.
Let me know if you have any questions.
With a little organization it could work. Plus there could be great story and character continuity emerging out of it too. A guild of some sort could form and exchange intel.
It could be really cool.
I am coming up on the busy season at work so I can't really do anything with this until november or so.
TL:DR
Basically I just want to run all this cool material FGG is releasing, but in a way that is ideal for PbP. Since these are not linear adventure paths, it could be tackled in any order, so it could be done in short, intensive bursts like PFS scenarios, instead of drawn out PbP campaign's that risk fizzling and dying after such a huge investment of creative energy on everyone's part.
You can reply here even if you don't want to co-gm it with me too obviously. Just brainstorming.

It sounds like it will require some DB involvement (MySQL perhaps) in order to manage all properly, and is bit complex project (in case you want something that really works)
I've been thinking about such thing long time ago , and i could try to help, but i prefer Numenera. I am not interested to work with other systems.

I would be interested to play in this game :)
And also note to the gm!-> There was actually a loooong time ago a succesfull game of this type where multiple parties were playing in the same setting & world.
Here is the Link to the site.
The GM "Jacob" was handling the game between 2 or 3 parties.

Glad to see there is some interest.
I will be answering slowly as this project is a long way off.
@Malleaus I have been using the Lost Lands setting from Frog God Games. There is not a very good place to learn about the setting online because the full setting book has not been published yet. They were an adventure module publisher first, and the setting has grown out of the adventures. But there is more setting info coming all the time. They have a new kickstarte live now that will include the first gazetteer. Also, I will link you later to my obsidian portal page that has some info gathered.
@BlackStork I never thought of using a DB. That sounds very helpful.
@Grovo Thank you for the link, I will check it later. I tried that before, one GM with 3 parties, and for me it was too difficult! He must be very organized.
@Corsario I am glad you are interested and see the potential!

I'll add. This makes sense if : system is simple and values story and smooth game over details and complex rules. This means Numenera is one of best systems to do so. It naturally skip detailed locations , separating ranges to 3 types categories, its very easy to run smoothly and not cumbersome. Its very story oriented.
D&D and others like that will be complete pain to run.
Database - is must. You need relDB, with streams, GMs, players, NPCs, locations etc linked into different related tables.. Each Gm can open one or few streams (games), players participate in streams, each stream locked to certain location so the players too, and NPC and items as well.
If parties intermix then their session in same place so they will see each other because their players are linked to the place through stream-to-location relationship.
Filemaker would be best program to build it (and i can do that) - the problem it is not free and it's servers require payment for each concurent connection ,so this DBS is out of the question.
If you want to try it and agree to use Numenera we could try to assemble it. Only option is MySQL CE because its free.
