Player wants to retrain to unchained rogue from Scout

Pathfinder First Edition General Discussion

It's a Mythic campaign that just Hit lvl 11 Tier 3. I'm assuming he's gonna become a scout unchained. I don't have the book but I'm inclined to let him.

My questions are: anything I should be ready for? Is it compatible with scout? If I were to require retraining rules how long/cost of retraining?

It's compatible, barely stronger, and I wouldn't force retraining rules at all. Just let them be free from CRB rogue's shackles.

He can be an unchained scout. The unchained rogue has language in it specifically to allow archetypes.

He basically gets

free weapon finesse

Free shadowstrike

Dex to damage on one weapon at 4 and 1 at 11?

His sneak attack disables his opponent, probably adding 2 to hit for the party and another 2 to hit for himself.

A minor benefit when he uses a few skills (like possibly induing fear with intimidate)

Verdant Wheel

As BigNorseWolf said, except:

DX-damage with 2 weapons of choice.

Sneak Attack now penalizes his foe's AC by 2 ("Bewilder"), his attack rolls by 2 ("Disorient"), or his speed by half ("Hamper"), for 1 round per landed strike (rogue's choice - no overlap). Penalties increase to 4 when involving the rogue directly. DM Note: healing of any kind (including DC 15 Heal check) immediately ends these effects.

He gets two Edges also. If he uses both of those for Intimidate, then if he beats his foe's DC by 10+, the foe is panicked(!) for 1 round, frightened for 1d4, and shaken for remaining duration.

Mostly correct, except the rogue applies an additional -2 to AC or Attack rolls at level 10 (allies just get the -2). And combat rogues will probably take the advanced talent to apply 2/3 debuffs instead of 1 around level 10.
