are there any other classes besides Oracle that get the oracle's curse class feature?

Advice

I can't seem to find any.

I don't believe there are. There are one or two prestige classes that require a curse and allow you to continue the progression without taking further levels of oracle (rage prophet comes to mind) but that`s about it as far as I know. No stand alone classes other than oracle gets it.

Okay thanks, yeah rage prophet was my goal, I was just seeing if there were any other paths into it on the Oracle side.

You could try the new variant multiclassing system, which gives the curse starting at 1st level. This should allow you to become a rage prophet without any actual oracle levels. :)

1 person marked this as a favorite.

.. you could even be a Cleric with the Rage subdomain, take the Oracle VMC, and be a rage prophet without any barbarian nor oracle class levels..

I have to get unchained this weekend so I can look at doing that, thanks for the idea :)

Not quite. The Rage subdomain grants you the Rage class ability, but the not Rage Powers class ability, meaning there is no way to pick up the moment of clarity rage power, which is a prerequisite for the Rage Prophet.

Actually, while it only debatably gives the Rage Power class feature, the subdomain does give two Rage Powers which'd fit the necessary prerequisite, though given that the first is granted at 12th level, that's a bit late for Rage Prophet entry.

You sure?

Rage (Su): At 8th level, you can enter a fearsome rage, like a barbarian, for a number of rounds per day equal to your cleric level. At 12th and 16th level, you can select one rage power. You cannot select any rage power that possesses a level requirement, but otherwise your barbarian level is equal to 1/2 your cleric level. These rounds of rage stack with any rounds of rage you might have from levels of barbarian.

Rage Prophet doesn't say anything about having the Rage Power class feature. You have to have the Moment of Clarity Rage Power, and how you get it is irrelevant. :)

I was working on the assumption that the idea was to get into the prestige class at a reasonable level. I was assuming one would take the extra rage power feat early on to get the Moment of Clarity power, which is not possible without the Rage Power class ability, which one would likely define as being granted at 12th level in this case, minimum.
