What happens to an Ifrit when it's raining?

Pathfinder First Edition General Discussion

What happens to an Ifrit when it's raining? And I mean like really raining hard, like a big 'ol downpour.

Also, what happens to a fire elemental in the rain? And do earth elementals just turn into mud or something?

If their tail flame goes out, they die.

No wait, that's the wrong game.

Things get a bit steamy?

Silver Crusade

Despite what they may look like and their undeniable Ancestry. Ifrits do just fine in the Rain. Their Hair simply only looks to be aflame. Though I'd imagine some degree of discomfort.

Correct; they don't enjoy the rain, but they're not hurt by it. Their hair only looks like fire. It's hair. Eerie supernatural hair, but still just hair.

And no, that doesn't mean their hair is a Supernatural Ability. They don't go bald in antimagic.

Yeah, body parts like that tend to be 'extraordinary' abilities. Like physical wings for flying. Or the little talked about 'natural abilities'.

Anyway, why not have it turn blue, and trail down instead of standing up? Wet hair typically does not do crazy standing positions like dry hair does (although that is usually just spikey hair).

Now, see, you just missed a golden opportunity for some serious hilarity with that statement.

Blue indicates greater heat.

Dulling to grey or an ashy-almost-black color would be more appropriate.

I thought that was what happened when an Ifrit and an Undine got romantic.

"A body of water is an impassible barrier unless the fire elemental can step or jump over it or the water is covered with a flammable material (such as a layer of oil)."

So you could claim rain locks them down in position until the ground dries. Is a puddle a body of water? Is a thin layer on the ground a body of water? Hmmmmm.....

Yep. But winter colors versus summer colors.

Magic doesn't have to make sense. Heck, it usually plays more off of the aesthetic for reasons we all know.
