How does the Time Stutter discovery work?

Rules Questions

So the wizards arcane discovery of Time Stutter, says it works like Time Stop but you only get 1 round. So if I use it, it takes a standard action to cast, then I get another rounds worth of actions? It seems weaker than I thought.

It doesn't take an action to cast, just once per day you have an extra round as if in Time Stop.

Unfortunately, time stutter is a spell-like and all spell-likes are standard actions to activate unless the ability or the spell it is equivalent to say otherwise.

Time stutter mentions nothing about the activation time and time stop is a standard action so it takes a standard action.

So yep, fairly weak. You get an extra swift+move once per day.

The only upside to this that I can see is the 1 round of being Undectable by anyone. I suppose if I needed an extra move or swift then yay...

An extra swift is pretty huge. Adding the extra move is just gravy.

^^^This

There are a lot of great abilities that are swift actions so being able to pull two of them in the same round is really nice.

I move and cast a quickened spell. Then I use time stutter as a standard action. Finally, I cast another spell and quickened spell and move again.

Seems pretty powerful to me.
