Limits of reckless infatuation?

Rules Questions

When you designate the single creature what are the limits?

Can I recklessly infatuate someone can I indicate someone on another continent? Someone famous, like a world leader or something.

Does the infatuated person need to even know where this person is? Theoretically they'll spend the time looking.

Does the target need to be real if the person believes they are? Can I indicate Mother Goose and have the person spend 1 day per level looking for this fictional character?

Thanks in advance for your input.

Reckless Infatuation REFERENCE:

School enchantment (compulsion) [emotion, mind-affecting]; Level bard 2, sorcerer/wizard 3, witch 3

CASTING
Casting Time 1 standard action
Components V, S

EFFECT
Range close (25 ft. + 5 ft./2 levels)
Target one creature
Duration 1 day/level
Saving Throw Will negates; Spell Resistance yes

DESCRIPTION
You fill your target with feelings of intense infatuation for a specific individual known to the target. At the time of the casting, you designate a single creature as the focus of the target’s desire. Thereafter, the target does all it can to remain within 30 feet of the object of its desire. If the target moves outside this range, it gains the staggered condition until it is again near the focus of its desire. If remaining within 30 feet of the focus of its affection would place the target in obvious physical danger, the target can attempt a second save to break the spell’s effect.

Reckless infatuation counters unadulterated loathing.

Sure. Why not? Name a greater demon lord, as long as they don't believe "he is everywhere, he is always with us," they'll probably run off searching for a way to get to the abyss.

It needs to be a specific individual known to the target, and they need to believe the individual has specific corporeality. By which, I mean that they exist in a specific location, not "all around you". Which some people may believe deities or other entities might.

So, you couldn't probably make the target infatuated with the king of Minkai if they've never even heard of Tian-Xia before. But you could make them infatuated with the head commander of Lastwall if they're heard of them before.

thanks all

Scarab Sages

You know I've always seen it played where you need line of effect to both the target and the object of desires.

But I don't see anything in the RAW requiring that way.

The problem I see in choosing someone potentially unknown is that you have to designate it as part of the casting, so unless you know for sure the target knows of the designated creature you might just waste the slot. Maybe it just makes them feel really lonely, aching with some nameless need?
