Wrath of Righteous Character Advice:

Advice

Just got word from our DM that our next campaign to run is going to be the Wrath of the Righteous. I've been brainstorming a character and think I've settled on a concept. Been having an itch to play a monk-ish character for a while now...

The Idea:
Race: Gnome
Age/Gender: haven't decided
Class: Paladin / Warpriest
Archetype: Iroran Paladin (Enlightened Paladin) / Sacred Fist

The Concept:
A gnome that is approaching (or cresting) his/her Bleaching. Worried, or scared, of their perceived impending doom, they convert (or strengthen their existing faith) to worshipping Irori. This is to strengthen their mind and body in advance so that they can survive their ordeal. The character will also worship Iomedae to one degree or another. Not perhaps enough to act as a patron deity but enough to influence his/her outlook.

Upon experiencing his/her bleaching, the first level of Iroran Paladin is attained and eyes are opened towards the Calling. The character will become an immortal (or rather, unaging) agent for Good and Law.

The Mechanics:
Stats: Dex>Wis>Con>Cha>Str=Int

Class is definitely MAD, or rather benefits from having a positive modifier in EVERY stat. Strength and Int will probably be the least important in the long run and are acceptable as dump stats (though I don't want a negative modifier)

Dex, Wis and Cha will all add to AC. DM has allowed the Sacred Fist to wear light armor and still add WIS to AC. Shields are still a no go.

Planned progression is Paladin 4 -> Warpriest 16

Any suggestions on feats, traits, or other thoughts?

Thank you

Mechanically, what is it out of Irorian paladin that you are wanting that you won't be gaining from Sacred Fist, or vise verse? It seems like there is an awful amount of overlap, and introduction of MADness that would be simplified by only taking one of them.

The only overlaps that I see are the Lay on Hands/Fervor abilities. All the other abilities gained are similar but work together anyway. There is an issue with MAD (I admitted that above) but I am going to move forward despite that.

Iroran Paladin:
Cha to AC in light/no armor
4th level access to Ki Pool
Aura of Excellence (This ability is amazing)
Personal Trial (somewhat weaker Smite Evil, but on anything)
Lay on Hands (no channel energy)
Mercies
Get 4 BAB (end with 4 attacks per round by level 20)

Sacred Fist will allow me to:
Flurry
Blessings
Spells (6th level by level 20)
Regain Channel Energy (combine with Ki Channel for regaining Ki)
Get WIS to AC
Style Feats (pummeling style/charge)

Getting X to Y

You'll probably want to take traits or feats that help you use your higher modifiers in place of less-high modifiers, if you can.

Wisdom in the Flesh. This one is perfect since it requires worship of Irori. Pick one Str, Dex, or Con based skill and use your Wis mod instead, and it becomes a class skill.

Armor Expert is always good if you're wearing armor. Might be especially good for you, since your Str is a low stat.

Get an evil outsider bane amulet of mighty fists.

Enjoy killing 95% of the enemies

BUMP!!!

And a quick update.

I'm thinking of the following stats (After racials, 25 point buy):

Str 11, Dex 16, CON 13, Int 12, Wis 15, Cha 14

Levelups to go to Str, Con, Wis, Dex, Dex (in that order)

Traits:
Quain Martial Artist (+1 unarmed damage)
Excitable (Gnome, +2 Init)
Armor Expert

Drawback:
Forgetful or Pride (still deciding)

DM might be allowing a bonus feat. If so, I am taking Fey Foundling and taking the Fey-Taken drawback instead.

DM is also allowing Lay on Hands and Fervor to stack together in the same 'pool' of abilities, similar to luck/grit/panache. Levels add together to determine amount healed and either one can be used to deliver mercies or fuel Warpriest channel/blessings.

Are you familiar with Bewildering Koan? This feat is the primary reason why Gnomes make surprisingly good Iroran Paladins.

I was not familiar with that feat. It is a very interesting ability. I'd need to get bluff as a class skill, so we can drop Excitable (doesn't really fit with the after-bleaching feel). I was looking for a 5th level feat, too.

Ok, so far:

Female Gnome
Middle Aged Bleachling
Str 11, Dex 16, Con 13, Int 12, Wis 15, Cha 14
Classes: Paladin 4 / Warpriest 16
Archetypes: (Iroran Paladin / Sacred Fist)
Blessings: Healing / Strength

Traits:
Quain Martial Artist (+1 unarmed damage)
Unpredictable (bluff is class skill)
Armor Expert (reduce armor check penalty by 1)

Drawback:
Forgetful or (Fey-Taken)

Feats:
01) Weapon Finesse (Fey Foundling)
03) Greater Mercy
05) Bewildering Koan
07) --Undecided--
09) Ki Channel
10) Pummeling Style
11) Pummeling Charge
13) --Undecided--
15) --Undecided--
16) Dragon Style
17) --Undecided--
19) --Undecided--

Suggestions on feats? I am not even close to being decided on the feats except for weapon finesse / fey foundling.

Something to think about when picking your stats, as Mythic you get a bonus to stats at more than just the standard 4,8,12,16,20. There will be times when you when you add +2 to one stat. Maybe start with a 10 INT and bump it later?
