Does an ooze catch fire if hit by an alchemist's explosive bomb? If the ooze has two creatures engulfed, how are those creatures affected by that explosive bomb?

1. Unless it states otherwise somewhere, in the creature's statblock, yes, it catches fire like everything else.
2. Quick rules check is inconclusive. As engulf states they are within the ooze's body, however, my ruling would be that they are unaffected.

Yes, an ooze can catch fire unless it has some special attribute that protects it (e.g. immunity to fire).

The second part assumes an ooze with the Engulf ability (or any other creature with engulf). If an ooze successfully engulfs a target and pins it, the target is "trapped within its body", so I'd rule the target is not subject to the explosive bomb's effects and does not catch on fire. Maybe if the ooze got blown apart by the bomb I'd let some of the damage leak through to the engulfed target, but that's case by case.

The Exchange

Somehow, in some way, causing an amorphous undifferentiated mass of flesh-eating goop to explode seems like it would be... counterproductive.

Alchemist: Oh my God.
Barbarian: Is it in my hair? It's in my hair isn't it! Get it off!
Oracle: Ew, it's dripping off the... everything.
