In the Adventurer's Armory, there's an item called 'Tear-Away Clothing'. In this, it refers to clothing that functions as a disguise that needs to be removed quickly. In case of my character, however, I would like to use it for a different purpose. My cavalier/maneuver master monk uses hide armor, meaning that it restricts me to 20 ft. base speed, normally. It's doable, however, since flurry of maneuvers does not have special armor requirements.
However, if I have to give chase in a place where my mount cannot go through (it happens), the armor becomes an impediment. Now, I like the idea that my character goes commando to complete his objective, especially since this gives the GM the opportunity to lure me off my mount and out of my armor. It allows me to make use of my wisdom bonus to armor but be at some disadvantage still.
This is the entry for tear-away clothing;
Tear-Away Clothing: Sneaks and thieves throughout Golarion know the value of a good disguise. The ability to remove that disguise in a hurry, thus revealing the next layer of disguise, is nearly as valuable. Tear-away clothing is generally loose fitting and long to allow another layer of clothing to be worn underneath. The seams and catches on this clothing are designed to break easily, making it a simple matter (a standard action) to remove these items and walk away with none the wiser.
It says nothing about armor.
This is what I am imagining;

I imagine that it would work well for cloth or leather armor, which gain the 'broken' condition once ripped off. Probably not for mail armor, unless magnets keep it together, which is doubtful.

Actually it is not all that difficult to make. I have a bullet resistant plate carrier that I can break away in about 2 seconds. In my case I worked on a boat and if I went in the water, I could pull what was basically a rip cord and the armor (whole vest actually) would sink while I swam to the top.
But, as the Little Helper pointed out, it would not be RAW. If you were willing to homebrew, maybe it could be a +1 or +5000 gp enchantment.
Putting my vest back together takes about 5 minutes.

Removing hide armor is normally a 1 minute process unless you have help.

Use an armored coat instead. Armored coat and hide armor both have +4 AC, but the coat has 1 lower max Dex. But still it's better than "tear-away armor", only a move action (faster than the tear-away clothing's standard action) to put on/off and isn't as weird rules-wise.

Another question, what archetype and level is your cavalier? If you're only level-dipping maybe you'd be interested in the emissary archetype so you can move regular (not monk-enhanced) speed in medium armor and Mounted Combat.

I'm not familiar with the maneuver master monk, but would Folding Plate work? I've always thought it was a fun item. It's a command item, so I think it would be a standard action to activate.
