PFS Earliest Entry into Mystic Theurge

Advice

In PFS without a race boon what is the earliest entry into Mystic Theurge?

4th, because you need 3 ranks in 2 skills.
Minimum is 1 of a class and 2 of another.
Both divine and arcane have options for both positions.
I don't know what they are right now, but I know there's guides on MT and early entry into stuff.

The trickery domain or wood mystery covers your divine requirement. Long Nose Form will cover the arcane half, but you have to be Tengu. I think there might be a way in with Racial Heritage other than Long Nose Form but that would lock you as a Human and burn two feats instead of one. 4th level is the earliest because of the skill ranks needed (and because you need your 3rd level feat in PFS) so you can go arcane 2/ divine 1 or the other way around.

Chess Pwn: No offense but you have been completely unhelpful as you have told me things I already know. PFS has limitations on things.

How, specifically in PFS can you get into Mystic Theurge at 4th level without a race boon?

Gregory Connolly: Ok, yeah... I know Tengu can do it. Didn't really want to be a Tengu. :/

So Human with Racial Heritage. Hm. I hadn't thought of that. What would you use to get in?

There are exactly two ways (barring wasted advancement) to enter at level 4 without a race boon:

Be a Tengu with Long Nose Form, get a divine spell-like ability from Wood Oracle, Fate Inquisition, or Trickery Domain (which you can get from Believer's Boon).

Be a Half-Elf Bonded Witch 2/[divine class 1], get a divine spell-like ability from a way mentioned above.

Tengu and focus on the divine half. They were pretty thorough in the purge of ways to get easy early entry stuff, I couldn't find anything worth burning a feat on. I suppose Human with Racial Heritage (Tengu) and Long Nose Form would allow an intelligence or charisma focus, but I wouldn't burn two feats for the privilege.

I'm sorry I was unhelpful to you, but you didn't ask how to get the earliest entry, just when was the earliest. As you didn't provide any info as you what you already knew, and I don't bother checking anything about you to guess at what you know, I assumed you knew nothing and gave a direct answer to your question. The question you posted in this reply is a much better question for the information you apparently wanted but didn't ask for originally, which has now been answered.

Ew, Witch. I had a feeling that was the case. Thanx, Avoron.

Scryer subschool gives Clairvoyance/Clairaudience SLA which satisfies the arcane 2 requirement. Divine requirement is slightly more challenging, but Trickery domain qualifies. Thus, a Cleric 1, Wizard 1, XYZ 1 qualifies for MT at 4, with appropriate selections and is the traditional early entry without using an SLA race.

Sadly, that does not work.

Scryer subshool does not give you access to a 2nd level spell. Clairvoyance/audience is a 3rd level arcane spell.

The only ways in PFS without a race boon are long nose form and half-elf bonded witch, assuming those are PFS legal (a quick look suggests they are)

*edit*

here is a useful guide for early entry options more generally that might help you out.

*reads bonded witch*

Oh, you mean with warding weapon? Interesting, I hadn't heard about that route.

Suddenly I have a concept involving the Infinity Gauntlet...

Whoops.
Why did I think Clairvoyance/Clairaudience was 2nd level? Blerg.
Yeah, Tengu or witch.

Another alternative is simply wizard 3/divine class 1/MT. I know it's not as early as possible, but it's darn close and you still only lose 1 off your wizard progression

Silver Crusade

My PFS Mystic Theurge took a slightly slower advancement path. Rather than push for a Divine-1/Arcane-2/Theurge-X I just accepted Divine-1/Arcane-3/Theurge-X. Divine casting is a full three levels behind but that's still plenty good enough. Ben has been very effective, especially after receiving community advice about how to play nice with others.

Well, I think that is a better option than going Witch/Cleric. Bleh. Thank you all for your help. I know of the list that was posted but verifying that against what is allowable in PFS was giving me a bit of a headache and I was sure others have already done the work.

Side question: if I wanted a PFS-legal way to get a level 2 OR HIGHER arcane racial SLA (to qualify for Arcane Trickster), does that open up any more options other than tengu?

racial heritage drow , and the spider step feat

RumpinRufus: Level 2 only. There is the afore mentioned Half-Elf option. Barring that you would need a race boon.

Kefler: I do not believe that feat is allowed in PFS, is it?

Elf with Dreamspeaker has a level 5 arcane SLA. You need CHA 15 though.

Imbicatus: I actually don't think that works. I think it has to be specifically a 2nd level.

Scarab Sages

Not for arcane trickster.

Spells: Ability to cast mage hand and at least one arcane spell of 2nd level or higher.

Your point being that they used intelligent wording when writing the prereqs for Arcane Trixter but not for Mystic Theurge? For all it matters I agree. Unfortunately, this has nothing to do with what I was asking. ;)

A slight hijacking of the thread here.

Does someone have the link to the massive pdf that was just on the Mystic Theirge.

I was trying to dig it up but I can't.

Thank you

Did you check the Guide to the Guides? It is stickied as the top thread of the forum.
