And now I've got nothing to do. Guess I'll look for some cheese to go with this whine.

I feel your pain. I literally had a slip on ice and broke an arm this month when i stopped to get food ON THE WAY to my Saturday game. Amusingly in hindsight, while sitting in the ambulance en route to the hospital in my hazy pain i recall thinking "damnit, why couldn't this have happened tomorrow!?"

Man, I'm sorry to hear that!I hope you're mending well. In my case two guys were sick and another guy and his wife had guests show up unexpectedly. Things that just couldn't be helped. The rotten part is we barely get to play once a month, and sometimes not even that. It may be the end of February before we reconvene, and already the couple I mentioned won't be available. Which sucks, because the adventure tonight was "Part Two" of the one we ran two weeks ago and the continuity party of my brain is twitching because they can't make it.

whine whine whine.

Here, try questioning some answers for us. Or composing the soundtrack of the Golarian pantheon. Or haiku. Or something.

Sorry to hear about your scheduling issues, Cal. On my end yeah, mending away. My slip was on the 10th, we had a game on the 24th. (i'm the GM for our groups Savage Tide, just started Chap 11) My own group only meets every 2 weeks due to schedules, so i can also relate on that side.

Consider NPC'ing em, for continuity's sake?

Another couple who get to play occasionally **might** be able to make it, so the party would be at least balanced. But if they can't make it that's what I'll probably end up doing.

Good grief, some of that stuff's hilarious.

Here's one!

I think we're going to play this afternoon if everyone can make it. That, or watch Blazing Saddles and eat tons of bad food. No Superbowl fans here.

When there is no game on, I distract myself with setting and world building.

I'm not able to work so I have all the time in the world to do that. After all these years of playing (nearly 30) world building just isn't as much fun as it used to be. Now I only build what is necessary for the immediate story arcs.

EDIT: I suppose that's not entirely true. I enjoy it sometimes. I think about the setting and world all the time, but it's the sitting down and physically writing my notes and things that I no longer enjoy. That's not as easy for me to do as it once was. Fortunately the homebrew world has been around for 25 years and most of it has been created. However, very little of it is written down. I just draw on things from memory.

Time to try your hand at publishing, dontcha think?

Failing that, try designing a new setting or two, see what lies down the road not taken....

Please preserve your best settings, rules and ideas. Publishing would be great, putting them online would be brilliant, and at the very least ensuring they can be seen, read and experienced by other players and dms would be wonderful.

Thanks, guys. Publishing is something that I really have no interest in, but I'll try to start compiling all the best of what I and my players have created over the years. It's not all me; it's always been a collaborative effort.

I hear you on that. I am in two games that are monthly and we are generally working to schedule 2 months in advance because otherwise they don't happen. Thankfully, we almost always play on my National Guard Drill weekends (since I'm already in the area), so that helps to keep us somewhat consistent in meeting for that game.
