Non-humanoid Goliath Druids and Enlarge Person

The Goliath Druid archetype gives Enlarge Person as a Druid spell. Native Outsiders aren't normally valid targets for Enlarge Person, as they aren't humanoids.

Quote:
She can cast this spell only on herself.

Would this sentence be considered a specific rule (she can cast it on herself) override the general rule that Enlarge Person can only target humanoids, or is the Primal Size ability completely wasted for the outsider races?

The Exchange Owner - D20 Hobbies

Unless the ability says something about overriding the targeting rules, that line is nothing more than a limiter. It limits you to yourself and Enlarge Person limits you to humanoid.

Keep in mind that while wild shaped you can't benefit from enlarge person anyways, so practically speaking I'm not sure it's that big of a deal.

Grand Lodge

Yeah, I believe James has the right of it. It would have to say something like "She can cast this spell only on herself, and may benefit from it even if she isn't humanoid."

Sovereign Court

It's basically something to tide you over until you get Wildshape, and it's nice to use on your AC.
