Appropriately sized has nothing to do with one-handed, two-handed, or light, they are two completely separate categories.
A medium character can wield any medium-sized weapons, same goes for small, large, etc.
Jotungrip allows medium characters to wield a medium two-handed weapon in one hand, hence why it says "must be appropriately sized for her"
Massive weapons only decreases the penalty for using over-sized weapons, such as a large longsword. the weapons still cannot exceed the "wield limit" (i guess you could call it) ie you can wield a large dagger (light becomes one-handed) and a large scimitar (one-handed becomes two-handed) but not a large javelin (two-handed becomes uh, three-handed???)
In essence, Jotungrip and Massive Weapons do NOT work in conjunction.

I figured as much, but why would a class have diametrically opposed abilities?
Titan Mauler just seems like a poor class to choose. You can use a two handed weapon in one hand, which is silly because as a Barbarian you like using two handed weapons the way they are. You can two hand a large one handed weapon, but you could do that anyway and it is not like the size penalty is such a big deal.
You could double the size of a Light weapon to two hand the weapon, but there is no light weapon worth doubling in size compared to just using a medium sized greatsword.
The only ability that makes this class even work shows up at level 14 and you could have already been enlarged simply by being a Bloodrager or having a Cleric cast Enlarge Person, by drinking a Potion of Enlarge Person, or by having someone cast a permanent enlarge person on you. And that ability stops most methods of rage cycling.
It seems the only reason you would want to play the titan mauler would be to TWF with Two-Handed normal sized weapons.

Well yea, the class was based off of Amiri, the iconic barbarian for pathfinder. It is designed to fit a barbarian who specializes in slaying giant or larger creatures and using their weapons. (If you would like you can make an improvised or versatile barbarian and only use the enemies weapons, be kind of a cool idea)
Another thing to keep in mind: medium-sized two-handed weapons are two-handed because they are better controlled as easier to handle with two hands.
A large one-handed weapon would require both hands because it is too heavy for one, not solely for the purpose of more precise control, but just to control it at all.

The thing is that the Titan Mauler as it currently stands isn't what the original designer turned in. Originally it let you wield weapons too large for you normally, but that ability was removed before it went to print.
This. The guy who wrote the archetype even said so.
Unfortunately after he submitted it to Paizo someone removed it and the rest is history.

If you really want, I would suggest the Monkey Grip feat from D&D 3.5 Complete Warrior:
MONKEY GRIP [GENERAL]
You are able to use a larger weapon than other people your
size.
Prerequisite: Base attack bonus +1.
Benefi t: You can use melee weapons one size category
larger than you are with a –2 penalty on the attack roll, but
the amount of effort it takes you to use the weapon does
not change. For instance, a Large longsword (a one-handed
weapon for a Large creature) is considered a two-handed
weapon for a Medium creature that does not have this feat.
For a Medium creature that has this feat, it is still considered
a one-handed weapon. You can wield a larger light weapon as
a light weapon, or a larger two-handed weapon in two hands.
You cannot wield a larger weapon in your off hand, and you
cannot use this feat with a double weapon.
Normal: You can use a melee weapon one size category
larger than you are with a –2 penalty on the attack roll, and the
amount of effort it takes to use the weapon increases. A larger
light weapon is considered a one-handed weapon, a larger onehanded
weapon is considered a two-handed weapon, and you
cannot use a larger two-handed weapon at all.
Most people forget that Pathfinder was originally made to be compatible with 3.5, so if your DM allows it and you are willing to take the penalties to attack, it makes Titan Maulers a lot of fun to play. This plus the Oversized Two-Weapon fighting feat had our Titan Mauler running around with a greatsword in each of her hands, pretty funny for me as a GM.

Actually wielding two medium sized two-handed weapons at the same time is pretty cool. It may not give you the best optimization for DPS output, but thematically it's an awesome sight as your barbarian whips a greataxe and a two hander around. You do get the extra damage dice for the two handed weapons, which helps make up slightly for the loss of 1.5 your strength bonus. Plus enlarge person becomes your best friend with larger size weapons.... The rage ability at 14th and lots of potions will help out immensely. Then you can use your Large sized greatsword and great axe in one hand each, or a Huge size one handed weapon in two hands to get that nice smashy/smashy damage. Dual mauls, anyone?

In the game with our Titan Mauler I just homeruled that once Massive Weapons reduced the penalty to -0 it was usable as an appropriately sized weapon for her. So she was able to use Large weapons at 6th and huge at 12th. It made for a pretty fun game and it felt like that was where the Archetype was originally going, otherwise why would they bother making Massive Weapons scale to a total reduction of -6 to 0? Just seemed the right call instead of letting a character have a class ability that scaled uselessly.

it was actually FAQed to not work but the original writer i hear intended for you to be able to dual wield overly large weapons and such.
