Razul has studied fencing techniques for years. The ban against dueling has grated against him for for all of that time. He has sought out less than savory characters from pirates to races from the underdark to perfect his techniques. He has also participated in whatever illicit combats he could. His disdain for what he views as the weak leadership of Talingrade has made him disrespectful of its laws. After all, it is only right that the strong should rule the weak. The idea that some dirt turning farmer has any equality to him is ludicrous! Unfortunately for Razul, his last duel resulted in the death of his opponent. Not expecting any type of officials to be present, he was surprized by guards as he was collecting his winnings. The ensuing fight ended with the death of a couple of the guards and Razul's capture.
