Advice

I need a 25 point build 7th level 7000gp equipped character. These are the guidelines, core races, core classes (my choice), archetypes are fine, but nothing third party. I'll be joining a well structured group for one night. They have what they need already, class-wise. I just want to game with some old friends and have fun.

These are the current classes in the group...

Witch
Fighter/Archer
Ninja
Paladin
Cleric

Thanks for your help.

Skald or Bard or Exemplar Brawler. Will help them all while providing utility.

OR Sensei Monk, for another WIS based class with Bardic Perfomance.

You could make a Grippli Sensei with Mantis Style, Mountain-Splitting Strike, Crushing Blow and tons of Wisdom and hit every single Stunning Fist and crush enemies to oblivion, all the while using Inspire Courage or whatever to boost your teamfolk.

I take core classes meens Those from the core book?
I suggest a barbarian. A Half orc barbarian. Give him power attack at 1 And iron hide at 3 and increased natural armor at 5 and 7. If you want to be Wild give him the armored hulk or invulnerable rager archtype. High str, good con and the rest is history. With supestisious rage power and the human favored class bonus you Can have exelent AC saves and offense. This is a simple and fun character that wont let you Down.

Dwarf Bard

Talk like sean connery and varric.

have at least 12 in all stats

use the inspire, facinate and distract performances

maybe have an elaborate grooming regiment for your beard/mustache

Edit: to elaborate, their party seems very well rounded - the only place they might lack extra oomph is in arcane spells (the witch covers some of it, but there is probably still room for another player to join)

they have 2 martials, 1 debuffer, at least 2 healers, 1 skill monkey, and 1 dedicated archer (but depending on the builds there might be many more)

Instead of going for some specialized build that "does X best" I would make a character that compliments the rest of the group and have fun.
If you have the opportunity, ask the group you're joing what skills they all have maxed out and fill in the gaps for them with your character.
Also put at least 5 ranks in "useless" skills, I would recommend "profession: bartender", "performance: ukuele" and other fun things you probably will never use - BUT what if you end up finding a use for them that game? that would be pretty sweet ....

So opt out of the dpr-olympics and be the guy that disarms all the bandits or glitterdusts all the giant.

Also I think more characters should have highly elaborate facial hair.
but I'm in a slightly whimsical mood today, if you want something more straightforaward, make a barbarian - they're also fun to play.

Since this is only for a one night I would suggest a gnome pyromaniac fire sorcerer. The only thing this party seems to be lacking is someone throwing around lots of fire power. While blasting may not be optimal it can be fun. Sorcerers are fairly simple so you don’t need to spend a lot of time creating the character or planning on what to do. You can just jump in to the game at full speed.

Go for a Fighter w/ Rough-rider archetype. He used to be a Knight, dubbed, "King of the Cavalry" because he was such a competent cavalier, but he fell into a life of gambling and debauchery until he was stripped of his title for being a social disgrace. His motto is, "Once a King, always a King, but once a Knight is enough."

I was thinking Human Cavalier. Order of the Cockatrice. Max ranks in Intimidate and Diplomacy and give him a real mouth.

He's only going for core classes, as a self-imposed limitation.

Grand Lodge

A Halfling Beastmaster Ranger 6/Fighter 1 who rides either a Giant Gecko or a Dire Bat.

I've had a blast playing mine in PFS and the gecko rider is a dungeon buster. Will just demolish creatures HP and can get anywhere with natural Spider climb. Tho a Dire bat or medium Roc is more optimal the Gecko can be rode upside down on the ceiling with offers some good advantages.

You can click my avatar and steal some of my build.

Thank you everyone for your advise. I really appreciate it. The game just ended. It was a good game no one died, woo hoo! Well, three of us were brought down below 0, Paladin, Ninja, & myself.

In the end I played a 6th level Exemplar Brawler, with one level of Knife Master. I used a pair of punching daggers. I absolutely fell in love with the first level ability. Call to Arms. I missed out on a lot of the great brawler power class features, but I was able to buff the group. Lots of fun. Thanks again.
