Racial Weapons and Craft checks

Scarab Sages

Just double checking, if I'm a dwarf, are craft checks to repair/create dwarven exotic weapons using the DC of a martial weapon or a exotic weapon?

Example, dwarven boulder helm. Craft (weapons). 18 DC for exotic weapon, 15 DC for martial weapon.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

It's still an exotic weapon. That dwarves get to treat them as martial weapons for proficiency purposes doesn't change that they are exotic.

True, but:
Quote:
Weapon Familiarity: Dwarves are proficient with battleaxes, heavy picks, and warhammers, and treat any weapon with the word "dwarven" in its name as a martial weapon.

It doesn't say anything about proficiency. Dwarves treat any weapon with "dwarven" in the name as a martial weapon. So that should be for all purposes: proficiency as well as creation.

That's a paragraph discussing proficiency.

Physical classifications of weapons don't change, even if how you treat those weapons for certain abilities might.
