So I am making a new character for season six "trial by machine" and I was wondering whether or not I should bother with the technologist feat? The character I am building will be exclusively for Season Six and I am just curious if the feat is worth it? Does it give any tangible benefit? Also how are the tech items in general? Thanks.

As far as the technologist feat is concerned, if I were to start the season over again, I would take an archetype that grants the technologist feat for free. I made a Numerian Scavenger/Investigator that, unfortunately, I have not been able to play yet but does work.
Without going into detail, the tech items can be pretty useful.

I am not particularly happy with the way this feat was implemented, but I think the real deal breaker is, that access to items of the technology guide is limited in this fashion.
So you would have to get your laser pistol from a chroicle sheet, and if you have already played that particular scenario... well it's tricky.

I've played the Tech scenarios so far, and Technologist isn't needed at all to do them well. It can provide a few minor benefits, give you a tiny bit of extra context about what is going on, but nothing that will determine whether you succeed or fail. If you took it, afterwards you'd be hitting yourself and saying "I spent a whole, precious feat for just that?!"
Since you already know (from the title!) that it's about tech, I just recommend this: be ready to fight constructs. Also, it helps to keep in mind Explore, Report, Cooperate. Season 6 is big on those.
Also, in the case of Trial By Machine, it really helps if the GM has read the GM discussion thread and has a sense of humour.
