Musket, Axe

Sovereign Court

When using the axe end of this, do I use the x4 crit range listed on the Musket, Axe or the regular x3 crit range for the battleaxe.

I'm pretty sure a battleaxe with x3 crit that is designed JUST FOR AXING should not be outdone by a bayonet-style gun add-on...

based on what I read the axe portion functions just like a battleaxe (1d8 x3 crit) and the musket functions like it reads in the book (1d8 x4 crit range 30ft)

Got another thread on the warhammer musket...Yeah, super confusing. Unclear if you use the warhammer musket / Axe Musket as a 1-handed weapon in melee.

Sovereign Court

i would say as Wargamer94: treat this garbage as a regular battleaxe in every respect, so yeah, one-handed when swingin' the axe!

Sovereign Court

(i.e. this fills a niche for players with low STR and thus low encumbrance capacity, and for those who cannot waste a feat on quickdraw, and pretty much for those who go adventuring in volcanoes and cannot afford to drop guns on the ground due to lava flow)

Sovereign Court

(i.e. one more niche: if you know you're gonna attack a fortress / mountain lair with fly spell active... you can't just drop your guns and keep drawing freshly loaded ones in high altitude flight, or over the ocean, etc.)

Sovereign Court

sorry for annoying posts, but here's yet one more tangent: drawing guns, firing them, and tossing them on the ground... rinse lather repeat or do you damage your guns doing so?

Shadow Lodge

You dont damage them but it would be a very costly feat to do considering how overpriced firearms are

Sovereign Court

gunslingers can craft guns at half price... I have player in my campaign that has quick draw and just tosses them on the ground as he goes, picking them off the ground later after the fight...

Shadow Lodge

having 10+ magic guns seems very costly to me. Maybe you are not using magic guns idk, i prefere other aproaches tough

Why only high levels?

Shadow Lodge

I read something which lead me to think on bard which gets a similar ability on high levels, then i noticed you said skald and that he can do it a low levels, thats a damn fine trick. I wanna have a Spell Warrior friend for my monk, heck i wanna have a spell warrior friend IRL

Still makes them like 500-1000 gold, per gun. Doesn't even include master crafting or enhancements.

I suppose, should you want to counter this, I think there are some nifty spells/abilities which specially damage unattended objects, like dropped firearms.
