Best lvl 2 warpriest buff spell?

Advice

Grand Lodge

I just leveled up my warpriest enough to get a lvl 2 spell. What's the best second level buff spell for a warpriest?

Melee focused, that is.

The three I wrote down to choose from are Effortless Armor, Bull's Str, and Weapon of Awe. It seems Bull's Str will be the most useful, for now.

Iron skin, defending bone, aid, bulls strength, resist energy, weapon of awe

If you're planning on facing up against casters, Silence is an awesome pick for the Warpriest. It can be cast as a swift action by the 'priest, and because it is an emanation it still functions "as intended"; that is to say, despite the language saying that Fervor'd spells can only "target" the Warpriest, anything with a secondary emanation will still function.

Sure, it precludes casting further spells, but then you have a big hammer and the caster does not.

You're going to want at least 1 Bull str until you get a +2 belt at which point I would grab defending bone and use that along side another 10/level buff.

Don't forget about resist energy... Allows you to wait until the last possible moment to choose your energy type.

Instant armor if you are in a place you cannot wear armor.
Delay disease or delay ok son seem to be good In the right times.

I was coming back to reference this and just realized Weapon of Awe doesn't work as well for a warpriest since the target is the weapon and the warpriest itself, so he can't swift buff himself.

If you worship Pharasma, false life is a good choice.

What everybody seems to overlook is that the Warpriest cannot cast spells with a Somatic component as a swift action. In fact, I can't find any buff spells that DON'T have a Somatic requirement. Please help!!

Spells cast in this way ignore somatic components and do not provoke attacks of opportunity.

Scarab Sages

Yeah, Fervor removes the somatic components from spells. Also, with the addition of Occult Adventures, Contagious Zeal is pretty good too.

Chess Pwn is correct:

When cast in this way, the spell can target only the warpriest, even if it could normally affect other or multiple targets. Spells cast in this way don't require somatic components and do not provoke attacks of opportunity.

Since this is on top again, I'm going to go ahead and point out that Ironskin is no longer a PFS legal spell.

Thanks for that. I didn't notice that one when I was looking through Occult Adventures before.

Damnit, you're right. I was thinking bard.

Edit: here is the full lists it's on: bard 2, cleric 3, inquisitor 3, psychic 3, sorcerer/wizard 3, spiritualist 3
