If you're planning on facing up against casters, Silence is an awesome pick for the Warpriest. It can be cast as a swift action by the 'priest, and because it is an emanation it still functions "as intended"; that is to say, despite the language saying that Fervor'd spells can only "target" the Warpriest, anything with a secondary emanation will still function.
Sure, it precludes casting further spells, but then you have a big hammer and the caster does not.

I just leveled up my warpriest enough to get a lvl 2 spell. What's the best second level buff spell for a warpriest?
Melee focused, that is.
The three I wrote down to choose from are Effortless Armor, Bull's Str, and Weapon of Awe. It seems Bull's Str will be the most useful, for now.
You're going to want at least 1 Bull str until you get a +2 belt at which point I would grab defending bone and use that along side another 10/level buff.

Chess Pwn is correct:
As a swift action, a warpriest can expend one use of fervor to cast any one warpriest spell he has prepared with a casting time of 1 round or shorter. When cast in this way, the spell can target only the warpriest, even if it could normally affect other or multiple targets. Spells cast in this way don't require somatic components and do not provoke attacks of opportunity.

Since this is on top again, I'm going to go ahead and point out that Ironskin is no longer a PFS legal spell.
Also, with the addition of Occult Adventures, Contagious Zeal is pretty good too.
Thanks for that. I didn't notice that one when I was looking through Occult Adventures before.
