I am in search of +3 crystal recipes (as are many other). Dowser/Sage is a meaner transition than other gather/refiner as there is not in game way to increase PER attribute.
S0 what do ypu want and where? There are some T2 essences available.
OK ... so far as I can see ...
Dowser increases PER
Sage increases PER
Seneschal and officer increase PER
"Guide" Armor feat increases PER
Cantrips increase PER
Power increases PER
Base Attack increases PER
Divine Attack Bonus increases PER
Arcane Attack Bonus increases PER
Will Bonus increases PER

Yes, I coupled Dowser/Sage with a Wizard(especially Cantrips seem like the way to go with PER). That means I actually have to go out and adventure with this character, unlike my paired up Dex, Int, Con etcetera crafters who just need to get enough crafting achievements.
So it does indeed require more investment in /played to get a Sage to level 20.
Unless they add other roles off course, no saying what is in the future.

I have obtained quite a few recipes which I'm interested in trading for equivalent level one in my own crafts. I'll list what I have and what I want, but I am also willing to give them freely to any member of Tavernhold who is able to use them, or has arranged a trade for one they can use.
Essentially, I just want to trade a stack of paper for actual skills that can be used immediately by somebody in my settlement.

True - but it does bump your thread :D
Meanwhile contact Rufus at Keepers in game, he has one of the Keepers Recipe Stores we all dump recipes into and you may be able to swing a deal.

I have some of the recipes you want, but you only have one from my list. Your list does imply that you have access to the items which are not included. Perhaps we could trade my 3 recipes for your one plus two batches of Basic Hide Sheets +2?
I am currently in Talonguard or Tavernhold depending on where I'm gathering on a given day. If you're close by, I can do the legwork. Otherwise a halfway point can be negotiated.

Cal, I have the Azure Crystal +3 recipe. I am mostly interested in the Pine Pole +3, Steel Blanks +3 or the Wool Sheet +3.
I am always online in Callambea, not sure if you are anywhere near that so we can make a trade. Ozems Vigil is close so if you are still there I can run there.
I am on euro times though so for US folk I would be online from 1pm-4pm EST or 10am-1pm Los Angeles time.

hmmm ... trying to start an armorsmith on MY DT account ... for hours and hours i killed a bazillion mobs last night and was wondering about drop rate for recipes?!
i got 4 out of 100's and 100's of looted items (0 armorsmith)
i understand "this is a social game" etc etc but didnt know that even just to get started you'd get stuck without being able to craft and would have to seek out others for recipes
all four starter cities NADA on recipes on auction house
or maybe i'm doing something wrong and there is some "free recipes" other than the bodkin arrows from the tutorials
don't want to bother this thread with my newbie questions so would a lovely armorsmith not afraid of a casual gamer taking 0.00102% of their future market share please PM me my next step(s)
and as for this thread I will purchase or trade for any armorsmith recipes
thanks in advance

I believe Recipe Drop Chance is in the neighborhood of 1-2%. You really need a large-ish Settlement donating Recipes for common use to have any chance of getting all the Tier 1 Recipes you need quickly right now. Once the Auction House is more functional, I expect folks will be able to buy most everything they need, but right now everything is still being built up.

i guess that is my problem
trying to make character(s) somewhat viable to a settlement BEFORE i actually look to which one i will join
seems in PFO it is the reverse (at least for crafters), JOIN, then become VIABLE lol
but that's okay i reckon

Yes - it is the opposite. As a settlement leader I try to hoard recipes - so when a new member comes around I give him as good a selection as possible.
There are 17 (?) crafter and refining roles. You have a drop rate of 1 recipe / 50 monsters. So chances are against you if you need 850 monsters killed before you get a recipe that belongs to the correct craft.I have used the AH and I got there key recipes for the settlement. But again - I spend 5 minutes to scroll through everything available and buy every craft that the whole settlement needs. Some day this can be armor - some day it is a refiner.
That leaves bartering. And once again you are up against people like me who have needs for a dozen crafters and get recipes from a dozen PvE players. So traders will more likely come to me as they have a higher chance to make a deal.
Don't try to outcompete a settlement as a single player - you can't.

yep not trying to thus my "will take .00102% of the market share" quote above lol, just trying to figure out what to do now because I usually play one of three roles (Druid, Ranger, and every once in awhile Paladin) so just piddling in the meantime til they come out and thought i'd try crafting on my DT alts
and the emboldened above, perhaps ... but i may just give them real USD on paypal for all the AS recipes ROFL ... then they have a decision to make...
PAY TO WIN!!!!!!!!!!!! *removes tongue from cheek*

A few points.
First, increase your knowledge skills will increase drop rates. (Local for bandits and Goblins, Nature for Wolves, Geo for Ogres.) Going from 3 to 6 in local gave me a significant increase in rate of Recipe drops.
Second, There are actually very few dropped Armorsmith recipes. (I think 6 Tier 1). 2 out of the 3 martial armors you get from gaining ranks. In general, there are a host more refining recipes then crafting.
Worse case, I would not expect anything more than 2:1 trades for same tier recipes. Even going though the AH, you can most likely get 1:1. The problem right now is the minimal use of the AH since it is annoying to use both as a seller and buyer.

I've recently discovered I missed an Armorcraft recipe when I was collecting them. If anybody has one for Novitiate's Scale to trade, I still have most of the recipes I listed a while back, and I am also willing to trade in raw mats, smelted goods, or crafted armor. Until the value of coin is better established (i.e. until the coin price of training is discovered), I am sometimes willing to accept it, but seldom willing to spend it.

I should have a couple of Novitiate's scale recipes Ulf, and would happily pass one in Tavernhold's direction. I prefer recipes from the list above, or cleric spells, but am willing to provide it for future considerations in mats if that's simplest for you.

Caldeathe Baequiannia wrote:I have Student's toolkit and am seeking Sage/Iconographer/Tailor recipes or Cleric SpellsUnfortunately I don't have anything you are looking for.
Since there are two, I'm happy to extend one against future consideration. When I'm in, I'll confirm it hasn't gone elsewhere, and if you are around Alderwag, it's yours. If not, I can pass it through Ulf with his Scale recipe?
Also, even a recipe I don't need, of higher levels, might help me trade for one I do.

I have come into possession of a level 13 engineer recipe, Professional's Toolkit (Edit: I accidentally put Expert's, but it's Professional's). This isn't an implemented item yet, but then again, it's level 13, so by the time anyone can use it hopefully it will be implemented. So if some wealthy collector wants this for their stash of high-level recipes, my ideal trade for it would be two copies of steel wire +3 or any t2 sawyer recipe.

![]() |

Still looking for steel wire +3 (wow, that's a popular recipe, isn't it?) and I now have a few more t2 recipes that could potentially be traded, including Medium Leather Pack, which will be a must-have once it's implemented. I also have Weak Varnish +3, and Hemp Twine +2, Basic Strips +3, as well as some other stuff.

![]() |

dang i traded steel wire 2+ for almost an entire batch of smelter 1-5 stuff to get started a couple weeks ago and now i can't find one either
and i need to make a +2 chain set or im stuck at armorsmith
so to bypass that will someone trade me the ACTUAL steel wire +2 or +3 in lieu of the recipe?
Are we still talking about the cotton twine, or has that ship sailed? I didn't mention steel wire +2 because it wasn't in your parameters, but I do have one.

![]() |

I have some steel wire +2 recipes at EL - contact Jazz Strongblade or Thod. Lots of other Tier 1 recipes as well.
Locke - let me know what I can offer for the coal. I hope soon to start producing tier 2 mage robes. Also happy to turn the coal into tier 1 +2 armor. Just pay the amount of coal and iron needed in coal alone and I will do the rest.
Lodestone is really needed. The Mordant Spire esccalations hampers my favourite lodestone gathering spot - and it is a pain to collect that anyhow.
Caliptocracy - I have moved a lot of maple and oak to Hammerfall and would like to ask if you could refine some of that for us.
As of tomorrow availble:
Gemcutter rank 9
Armoursmith rank 9
Sage and tailor 9 will follow in the next days.
Weaver and smelter are not under my control but ask me and I try to organize something. Happy to do some tier 2 refining and crafting in exchange for some refining and crafting I currently don't have.
