True Strike + critical miss

Rules Questions

Does true strike negate a natural 1?

Silver Crusade

No.

As written, even if you have enough bab/etc to hit it. A nat 1 is a miss.

Grand Lodge

True Strike does not guarantee auto-success.

It's just a +20 to the attack roll, no special rules involved. Technically if your to-hit is bad enemy and enemy AC is good enough you could miss even without a nat 1.

Sczarni

Had an alchemist once who drank True Strike extract 2 times and rolled 1 on both attacks. Poor unlucky guy.

yup a wiff is a whiff.

though i've also missed a true striked powered attack cause I rolled a 2 before. So yeah. not autohit XD

You know multiple castings of True Strike don't stack, right?

I think he meant on two separate occasions, although I could be wrong.

You guessed correct.

Grand Lodge

Gotcha.

As others have indicated it merely negates any miss chance due to concealment and grants +20 To Hit. On the flip side it also means Moment of Prescience doesn't mean an automatic miss if used as an insight bonus to AC nor do you have any questions about what happens if a caster uses Moment of Prescience against a True Strike buffed attack.
