Non-caster class?

Occult Adventures Playtest General Discussion

Is there any possibility we can get one or more non-caster classes?

I am picturing a warrior-type who uses some psychic tricks to get bonuses in combat or cow his enemies.

Or

A psychic grifter who gleans temporary skill bonuses and knowledge from those nearby.

Well it's far too late for any changes to these things. but if they keep with the Occult releases later on likely there will be something similar I guess..

Kineticists can be made into a pretty decent warriorish things iwth some tricks.. If you just use a weapon or kinetic blade, the burn hurts but it's doable. ..
If you chose a TK guy, you can use the mage hand like thing and the later TK powers to trip, move stuff around fly etc.

Granted it's not really what your describing but is somewhat close..
There is a possiblilty of Archetypes for the current classes I think..? So fighter might get something

The grifter is an interesting idea but pathfinder typically doesn't like the characters that require allies to work. Or did you mean like mind reading abilities and such? It sounds potentially pretty cool though.

I was thinking of a character that "borrows" skills from the minds around him. He walks through a market and borrows the Appraise skills of a shopkeeper to make a check, for example.

While cool. .that sounds darn hard to impliment.... I mean there isn't always going to be someone with actual skills around you. at which point your kinda useless. So it requires a lot more GM fiat/work than normal classes...

I could see them making something along the lines of veiled illusionist thought. Where as yo ulevel up you unlock "aspects" of either people, or maybe past lives or what have you.. That allows you to add some modifier to skills and make it temporary a class skill kind of thing.

I think the low hanging fruit for this class would probably be a retooled full BAB iteration of the Kineticist and somehow combines those kineticist powers with martial attacks in a meaningful way. So like a Kinetiknight or a Wavewarrior or some such shenanigans.

Kineticists are martials who shoot you with their mind-fire rather than a bow and stab you with plasma sabers rather than silly greatswords..

Yep. We can now make fire-benders~!

There will be occult-themed archetypes for a lot of the non-occult classes, as I understand it. I'm looking forward to seeing what they come up with for investigator and rogue.

I agree. I also want to see a brawler or monk with some limited kineticist-like powers.

I hope this is true. I just don't think of "Occult" adventures as "Casters Only" stories. Rather casters are just part of the bigger whole for me.
