Any druids out there ever use the SMA Cyclops trick? Just curious.

Advice

So druids can summon Cyclops as a 5th level SNA. These cyclops basically get to auto crit once a day (they have to confirm as usual).

Any druids carry around large size scythes for these guys to auto-crit with? If you can summon 3 with SNA 6, thats potentially quite some damage.(Then again they already use greataxes which are x3)

Its just a neat combo that I've heard mentioned but I've never actually seen someone do.

I do it but without the scythes. Their greataxes doing 3d6+7/x3 does usually result in quite some damage--why bother with extra encumberance?

Ruyan.

I don't think upgrading from greataxes to scythes is necessary or worth the hassle. More important is having a cleric with the destruction domain. Cyclopses + Destructive Aura is really nasty.

Dark Archive

I believe a Kingmaker campaigns final bad guy died to this in one of the threads for that AP. Endless spam of Cyclops charging/critting/dieing against her that she couldn't deal with, seems cheesey but it works so I'm sure there's lots of people who'd use it if needed.

The Exchange

used this on players once. Too many "your trying to kill my character gripes". So built the encounter with cyclops and destruction domain, which was just on hard mode. Course was not keeping it in the game, but an exercise for there newly built party, cause they had a TPK. Explained nicely that if wanted to just kill PC's, I could easily build a legal encounter and do so. Than told them would never use it against them in game. Be nice to your GM and never do this cause may come back and haunt you

A blight druid is a stinky fellow but he can get the destruction domain for this trick:)
