Blade Lash & Unarmed Strike

Rules Questions

"Your weapon elongates and becomes whip-like. As part of casting this spell, you can use this weapon to attempt a trip combat maneuver against one creature within 20 feet, and you gain a +10 bonus on your roll, after which the weapon returns to its previous form."

Can you use this with an unarmed strike?

Yes. An unarmed strike is a kind of weapon.

Sovereign Court

Could you cast the spell and then deliver it with a 2H weapon? You'd have to take your hand off the polearm to do the somatic component. Is that a problem?

Assuming you hit with an unarmed strike could you use Improved Ki Throw and spinning throw?

Yes, but you would have to throw your target into a square you normally threaten, not one within the expanded range of the spell.

Core Rules wrote: "Unarmed strikes count as light weapons (for purposes of two-weapon attack penalties and so on)."

That applies to anyone's unarmed strikes.

Core Rules wrote: "A monk's unarmed strike is treated as both a manufactured weapon and a natural weapon for the purpose of spells and effects that enhance or improve either manufactured weapons or natural weapons."

This applies only to MONKS (unless I'm misunderstanding your question, always a possibility)

I would have to say no to unarmed strike with this.

"Target your melee weapon"

Unarmed strike or natural attacks are not "a melee weapon" to be targeted. Spells which enhance unarmed/natural attacks target the creature, not the attack.

Ok so assuming I dip Monk or Brawler I can do it?

That would work. It would be a perfect spell to catch a fleeing enemy.
