I know this has been asked a few times, but I haven't seen any conclusive answers.
Extra Reservoir States:
This, in my opinion, should mean that you get +3 max, and get 6+1/2 class level per day, instead of the normal 3+1/2 class level.
If this is NOT the case, it means you get +3 for the day you get the feat? And then it just goes away?
Is there any FAQ or paizo response to this? I searched but couldn't find it. If all it does is add +3 max then I feel it's kind of a waste of a feat, but +3 per day could be well used.

Different but related question: what is the benefit of the elf favored class bonus for the arcanist?
Arcanist: Increase total number of points in the arcanist's arcane reservoir by 1.
Does it increase the amount of arcane reservoir points you start with each day, or does it only increase the maximum number of points in the reservoir?

Your example is off. Elf FCB "Increase total number of points in the arcanist's arcane reservoir by 1."
so in your example it would be
"This backpack can fit 15 apples, and currently has 3 in it." But if you filled the backpack up to the total there would be 15 in it.
Now I increase the total and it would now read.
"This backpack can fit 16 apples and currently has 3 in it."
now if you filled the backpack to total there would be 16 in it.
You're increasing the total allowed, not the current amount, otherwise you'd never use them. "I have 5 points and use 1, so now I should have 4, but my FCB says I increase the points in my pool by 5 so I still have 5."
Also to support this is the Gnome, which clearly is about how many you regain each day. So I they'd use that type of language for recharging each day instead of maximum allowed.
Now I do agree that this is poorly worded FCB, like a lot of the book.

I'm trying to find how to how it is possible to add apples at all..
"eating" magic (potions, and such) seems to only add point per the RAW..
I am wondering how I would get to the maximum possible..
or, is it a hypothetical maximum?
Say, if a had a character which is level 12, with 12 Cha-
then, nominally that'd be 3 + 1 + 6 = 10..
but absolute max is 3 + 1 + 12 = 16
so, I suppose, if I am limited to one instance of eating magic per day..
then the most I could add is 4 (if there was a ninth level magic snack)
but, it seems, never would I be able to add up to 16
So far, none of this is "in play" as I am generating a character
(which is to be a Exploiter wiz.. so there might be some further restrictions in that case?)
But, just saying - we all want the max, but is it an impossibility to obtain?

Extra Reservoir
Your reservoir of arcane energy is greater than others'.Prerequisite: Arcane reservoir class feature.
Benefit: You gain three more points in your arcane reservoir, and the maximum number of points in your arcane reservoir increases by that amount.
Special: You can take this feat multiple times. Its effects stack.
http://paizo.com/pathfinderRPG/prd/advancedClassGuide/feats.html#extr a-reservoir
I think that it is clearly a case of "this AND that"- or, in particular "gain.. and ..increases"
Thus, if this feat were to be taken by my Exploiter once, and he is level 10, then he would have the following:
Amount available each day..
6 {3 plus additional 3 for the feat}
+ 1 { +1 only because he has a 12 Cha }
+ 5 { +1 for every two levels
= 7
Amount which is the maximum..
as above, but 10 rather than 5, so, maximum potentially is 17
I think that also gives me a about as good of answer that I can get for my own question: how to fill up? Answer: take the feat to add more (though there is still not a way available to have the maximum).
I wonder that if the rule could be changed to, say, one may add an amount in one day not greater than the difference of your maximum potential and the amount which you started with ( in the examples above, that'd be 17 - 12.. so you could add 5).
While PFS restricts the spell levels of scrolls that a character may get no matter what ( to 7th.. with possible exception of a particular scenario has it listed where something might become loot { is that pun or what? } ), then the most that you might be able to add is 3 from eating that scroll.
