We only need player email addresses if the player wins a boon.

Question about GM Boon. First time participating any Gameday events.

Found answer in FAQ

Second question: do we need player's emails to be collected for reporting or GM email is enough?

Shirt Re-Rolls should be treated like additional resources used by players in PbP.

Players should, at the GMs request, be able to provide proof of the shirt purchase via a Paizo receipt that can be forwarded to the GM; or send a picture of themself wearing the t-shirt to the GM.

I got one of my players who I totally trust to get a pic of himself wearing the T-shirt anyway, just to be PFS compliant - and because I thought it would be amusing. I didn't even think about the receipt! Sorry, (you know you you are), if you're reading this... I'll be sure to post a pic of myself wearing my goblin T-shirt when it arrives to repay you for your photo.

Also, I guess the receipt / picture thing would also apply if you wanted to be to the letter about making sure players have the right books/PDFs to select certain options also, yes? I'm not going to that much effort unless I have to, but I guess the option is there. Yay for technology!

Email us at PFSOnlineVOs@Gmail.com and I will re-forward the GM instructions. I believe it is also in the FAQ.

I don`t receive any instructions for how boons can be won (I think is rolling 1 or 20).

If it helps to track it down, I received the email on Nov 5th.

what is play-by-post?

Shadow Lodge 4/5

PbP is short for Play by Post. It's a form of online play. It tends to take anywhere from a week to a few months to complete a scenario, just depending on real life issues and the posting rate of all involved. Its a bit different from other styles of online play. PbP is generally done exclusively through text, where as in some, like over Skype, there is a virtual table top, but otherwise everyone speaks through their phone or headsets.

If you would like, HERE IS A LINK to one of my older games you could look through for as an example of how one could play. Different people have different ways of running them, and there is no one true way.

If you have any further questions, feel free to PM me, or post here, of course.

Last gameday there was a list where GMs could check the games they reported in. Seeing as how I think I may have botched one report, it would be very helpful to have it again. Would it be possible to have such an overview again?

Liberty's Edge 5/5 Regional Venture-Coordinator, Online

Sure - I will setup a "reported sessions" page

If any of you are finishing in the 3-7 tiers, I did not get any signups for my second scenario. No guarantee we will finish in time, but if you have players interested in Sanos Abduction, send them my way. :)

Link is in my profile. :)

hey I just decided to DM a PFS game for gameday 3, and I have not rolled for boons yet, but I as a DM do not know what the boons are. It says DMs are told before gameday starts, but for those of us who just started, we don't know. I'm not sure if it varies by senario, but Shades of Ice, Part I: Written in Blood

Welcome aboard DoubleGold. If you PM me your Email, I'll see if I can forward you the email. You can also try to get ahold of Jesse Davis (see the PFS Guide at the end), but I don't think they want them posted on the boards, even in spoilers.

For rolling, you can either do it at the beginning or at the end of the game, but all need to be done at the same time, and no rerolls allowed.

3/5

I almost ended up my 3 games and before starting one or two more, I was wondering if you know about any Gameday 3 scenario that has staggered and needs a replacement GM, or if there is any GM with too much in his hands and needs some help.

I just thought it is better to help end some fronts and make the Gameday 3 a success rather than starting new ones.

I thought there were 4 different boons, when I go under session reporting just to see what there is, it says boon won and, I only see 3. I thought the GM was a slyph boon?

Nope, only 3, and the GM Boon, though I believe there was word about other Boons being given at random at the end. I could be wrong on that, though.

The only one I was aware of I believe has been filled, though again, if you email or PM Jesse, he's more likely to know what's needed.

Grand Lodge

GMs get that boon automatically (once they complete a session, and only once). It's unrelated to the boon rolling, which is just for the three boon options listed.

Anyone interested in filling in a seat for The Silver Mount Collection? Preferably a warrior or healer type. Arcane types really not needed.

What tier are you looking for?

I might be able to bring in an inquisitor 6 or a slayer 3.

Also, is this just starting?

Grand Lodge 5/5 5/5

I have a 6th level Bloodrager. More rager than blood.

Shadow Lodge 4/5

Its low tier, and a little bit into it, but not far and practically starting over.

HERE if you are interest Silbeg or Gerdur. I was going to have the players catch you up in character.

3/5

How the GM boon works? Is it like a chronicle sheet you receive from the organizer or Paizo? Or how do you demonstrate you have the boon otherwise?

2/5

Hi, we just finished a session of the Segang Expetion (what a ride!). It's not in the scenario list (was released after the gameday began). I've just reported it as "Other (list in notes)", but it would be nice for it to come through properly on the players' session listings.

Just wanted to make sure I was doing the right thing and check if the latter thing is possible.

It will be a chronicle that the organizers will send out to you when you've completed at least one game for the game day.

2/5

Thanks Silbeg. I was figuring it was at the end of the GameDay.

So... has anyone got any GM boons (or other boons) yet? I finished running a session about 2 weeks back and haven't been "booned up" as yet. Just curious. I'm sure Jesse / IronHelixx has much on his plate!

Shadow Lodge 4/5

Most likely it will be towards the end of the Game Day. I've completed a few games already, and haven't gotten anything. And as I recall, that's how it worked in the past Game Days.

3/5

The first game day the GMs (and players who won one ) received their boons at the close of the event. The second game day boons were sent out in batches IIRC…shortly after each individual game finished. Patience is the name of the game…its no doubt a lot of work to perform all the data entry necessary to report so many sessions.

2/5

Alright then, was wondering as well.

3/5

I'm currently in a PbP Gameday 3 scenario which looks to need a new GM to finish it up. It's a table of #6-01 Trial by Machine. The GM has not posted in 11 days as of this post, nor has he given any indication that he would be gone for an extended period. Furthermore, the GM has stated in the past that he will be permanently unavailable after January 15th. With the holidays, I don't believe this will be enough time to finish the scenario before the 15th, so if someone could take over, the players would appreciate it.

The link to the thread is here.

Justin, that is unfortunate. If no one else can step up, I may be able to. Allow me to read over the scenario and respond in the next day or so. I am traveling tomorrow, so my reply may take a bit.

3/5

Thanks for the consideration, James. I'll let you know if anyone else steps up in the interim.

Sovereign Court 4/5

I, too, am able to finish the scenario. I've played it before and I already own the scenario, so I could jump in quite quickly. But James Martin can proceed first, if he'd like so.

3/5

Yes, please, if someone can take the game Justin and me are playing, it would be great!

4/5 5/55/5

Same here, I'll gladly step in. If neither James or Deussu has taken the spot by tomorrow, I'll continue the game for you. Sounds good?

1/5

Sorry if I missed it some where, but is there going to be some sort of boon for either playing or running as part of this?

3/5

Through PM's, it looks like we have found a replacement GM. Thank you all for the offers, it is appreciated.

I better give the mantle to you, I have two PbP games hosted going on already (not on Paizo.com) and have to prep for DotS series. That in addition to taking care of the kid and work. Ugh.

Nohwear wrote:

There will be...GMs will receive a boon for running a game, players have a chance to win a boon at the end of each game. There was also talk of other random boons being awarded by the online venture officers but communication from the online lodge has been sparse this time around; presumably due to the holidays. That being said nearly all of the games I have run and/or played in have been reported to Paizo but AFAIK boons have not been sent out yet.

2/5

I've hosted 2 games for PFS credit, had started them in december and finished yesterday. I've reported it via my account for gameday 3.

Only just now did i come across this page. With the links of the OP, does this mean i missed the boat, or does it still count?

Can't seem to put in the event ID, the number set in ID when opening the page is locked.

GM Chyro wrote:

That's because the event ID is set - PbP Gameday 3 is one event, and all sessions will be reported by the online VOs to that event ID.

2/5

Thank you sir, attempt # 2 on the way.

About boons and offical report in webpage PFS for games already reported by form... We have to wait for February , don`t we?

My first games were properly reported at paizo.com, but the ones closing since two weeks ago are still pending to appear in the Sessions tab page.

I guess with so many games ending during these lasts weeks the working queue for the coordinator is high and a delay is normal. I hope things are going ok and we will see them appear soon.

Do we know approximately when will they be reported? Is there anything we can do to help?

Just waiting for a player to respond on a boon selection, and I can report. Is there a cutoff for when the game should be reported?

Sovereign Court 4/5

The game I picked up was unable to finish in time. Sad times.

1/5

I unfortunately am running late on my game as well. Hoping I can finish today.

There was for Gameday 2, but if I recall correctly it was a week or so after the official end of the Gameday. I imagine it will be similar for Gameday 3, so you have a few days.

Grand Lodge 5/5

Go up to the first post in this thread. Reporting cutoff is Feb.3

4/5 5/55/55/55/5

Nyaw, can't wait for Gameday 4.

This year can we get a Talk Like a Pirate Day up?
Last year it was going to happen - then sort of disappeared.

On a side note, running Tian Xa themed adventures for the Chinese New Year, almost finished building the 3d terrain of Nesting Swallow Village - strangely, its not as big as I thought it would be when you craft up the village, looks bigger on a 2d map.

It would be good if we could have a few more seasonal event days etc.

In face-to-face games, especially at Cons where there is a hard limit on time, you can call a game early based on time. You then basically award Chronicle Sheets based on what the party has accomplished to the point.

I've used this in the past game days, ending them early based on the deadline, then doing a sort of extended wrap up unofficially for the players, just keeping in mind that nothing can alter the Chronicle Sheet that's already been reported. It's more of a sense of closure.
