Multiple Potions

Rules Questions

I recall that in 3.5 if you drank a potion and then another while the first was still in effect bad things could happen. I can't seem to find mention of that in Pathfinder, was it removed? Can a character be under the effects of multiple potions at the same time? How about a potion and an oil?

Sovereign Court

There are no penalties for consuming multiple potions or combined with oils.

See Alchemist who are literally just consuming potions all day.

That was pre-3rd edition. There was a random chart. The chart nor anything in it's spirit have existed in core material since the dawn of 3rd edition.

Shadow Lodge

1 person marked this as a favorite.

There should be a special prestige class for members of Alchemists Anonymous that provide benefits for giving up all the potion related class features. I might build one for my home games.

Well, is my face red. Thanks for the clarifications!

Ah, potion miscibility. Those were the days.

That was 1st edition. It was the dreaded Potion Miscability Chart.

Here is the 3.5 version.

Note that this is an April Fool's Day article. :)

I can't say I'm not curious as to what happened in pre 3rd edition when you drank multiple potions?

It depended on the roll, anything from one of them becoming permanent to turning into a save or die poison.

Pre 3e stuff tended to have a bunch of stuff that was "gotcha" style material that would often be considered "DM is a dick" material to many of today's players.

Namby-pambies. : D
