Hi everyone,
I'm having a really hard time choosing a +1 enchantment for my Level 4 Character's Cold Iron Great Axe. He is 1 Level Barbarian, 3 Levels Alchemist.
I have him alternate between ranged support and then buffing up to be a Large, Shielded, Strength Mutagen, Raging monster of destruction. I had thought about getting the Planar Enchantment, but with my weapon being Cold Iron I wasn't sure if that would be redundant since my weapon already penetrates some creatures DR. Speaking of which, are Fey and Demons considered extraplanar? or not? If not I might take the Planar Enchantment.
Otherwise I was considering taking Corrosive since my guy is an alchemist who also likes to play with acid and poison.
He is really crazy, Chaotic Neutral, Half-Orc. Enjoys mass destruction. But I'm totally open to other suggestions for a character at the 4th level.
Or, is there a type of enchantment to help overcome the DR of constructs? I just can't afford an adamantine weapon right now, and definitely can't afford to enchant that!

Ok, you can get through dr/cold iron.
Next, you need to be able to crack dr/silver, evil, magic, bludgeoning, and adamantine.
So, you'll need multiple weapons. Just accept that.
I'd but a flask of oil of magic weapon, in case you ever need magic and cold iron, and spend the rest on a +1 steel weapon, a mw silver weapon, and make sure that you cover all three types of damage along the way.
If you're ranged support, this is a bit easier. Enchant the bow to +1, and buy a variety of arrows. And since you have some archery feats, you'll do well with flasks of acid, alchemists fire, and holy water as well.

From anonymous visitor's post, don't forget an oil of bless weapon.
But, for PFS, you may want straight enhancement bonuses if you can't figure out what it is you want to fight.
I'm assuming that you already have a +1 on the axe, and so you have paid the 2000 gold piece surcharge for cold iron, as Andrew Christian noted. (Yes, it does apply to fame limits, so for an axe to be enchanted again, you'll need to have 27 fame.) If you know what you'll be fighting, bane is an excellent enchantment. It's a +1 cost enchantment, and against the particular enemy you'll fight, such as evil outsiders, you'll get +2 to hit, and +2+2d6 damage.
Yes, demons are extraplanar, unless you are in the abyss. Fey may or may not be. At a first glance, a nymph is not.

what nefreet said. Your best bet, and most efficient use of coin, is +3 adamantine holy weapon. +3 weapons count as silver and cold iron, and having the base material be adamantine rather than steel and going for +4 (where the pluses make it count as adamantine) is now it ignores hardness 20 or less and has the improved hitpoints and hardness itself.
cold iron weapons cost an extra 2000 to give the first +1 to and that money could be spent on other things, like a ring of protection, or a +1 to armor and +1 to a shield, etc. So masterwork cold iron weapons are useful back-up weapons, when you need to get through that DR at low levels, but I really wouldn't waste the coin making them magic.

since he is a barbarian i would get a +2 courageous furious instead of adamantine OR a +1 adamantine furious. Both cheaper than the standard issue +3 adamantine holy.
he can bypass dr/good with lesser celestial blood rage power, he bypasses silver/cold iron/adamantine with the furious while raging.he also get a +1str/+1con/+1 will (or all if superstition) sv throws.
and if anyone can throw heroism, auras, good hope, etc they also get +1

So I guess I'll leave my Cold Iron Weapon as it is. I only have 3,500 gold, so I'll get steel Great Axe with a +1 Magic Enchantment. And, if I understand how that works correctly, it costs 2,0000 gold, plus the normal weapon cost, to make a +1 attack / +1 damage weapon without any other effects like fire damage or cold damage. Maybe I'll also get a silver weapon too.

it costs 2000+ 300 for the masterwork + the cost of the weapon for the +1attack/+1damage.
afterwards it is just straight up +6000 to make it furious.
a silver weapon is dirty cheap and will probably help you till you get the furious one.
also try to find a bludgeoning weapon to fit in your gear for dr/bludgeoning
