Lets say that you were playing Perils of the lost coast as Merisiel. You died on the Poison Pill, and remade the character (as Merisiel). When the party completes BlackFang's Dungeon, do you also get the skill feat from completing those scenarios in order?
Assuming yes to the above, what if you died as Merisiel, and decided to use Lem instead? Would you still earn that feat?
What if you simply decided to use different characters for different scenarios? Would the character who won the last one in that adventure get the feat, or would none of them?
What if some players decided to occasionally (but not always) use more than one character?
Basically the question is: are PLAYERS earning the feats or the Characters?
I looked to see if this had been asked before, but couldn't find it. I apologize if this is a redundant question.

So dying super sucks. Cool. So, if Merisiel died on the Poison Pill, she would have to go back and do Brigandoom again if she wanted to get the skill feat from winning Perils. Alternatively if she went on (with the party) and completed Perils without going back and repeating Brigandoom, the rest of the characters (who did not die) would get a skill feat, but she wouldn't. Is this about right?
And she couldn't just go back afterwards and do the missing scenarios in the adventure, because they'd be out of order. So, if she dies in a scenario, the skill feat for completing the adventure is forfeit, (Except if she goes back and does them all in order, presumably solo). Do I have it straight?

You can go back and do previous scenarios for the rewards and then continue on with the party once you catch up.
The only thing I see in the rule book is this:
page19: "If you've successfully completed all of the scenarios on the adventure card, you earn the reward on the adventure card".
I personally, do not know the answer to that one as, in my group, we have always continued through with the same characters and no deaths... the situation has never come up.
The rules, as written, would suggest that yes, you would need to complete all of the scenarios for a given adventure with a particular character to get the adventure reward.

Some people have house ruled that dead characters can be replaced taking all the feats up to that point and building a deck from cards 2 adventures lower, and still get the rewards for the whole adventure if they didn't do all the scenarios. Going by the rules though, you do only get the adventure reward if that character completed all the scenarios in the adventure.

You do have to run them by the rules, but you don't have to do them in order. So the new character could move ahead with the rest of the characters and then rerun the earlier adventures later in any order, alone or with the help the other characters, to get the rewards for the scenarios and adventures.
I lean towards house ruling like Andrew mentions, though, unless you just really want to rerun all of the adventures. Rerunning is more advantageous since you can get better boons, but can be a very serious time commitment. I love the game but I like to do other things with my time as well.

Thanks a lot guys! I also think this game is great. One of the best in my collection, for sure. The complexities are just an indication of it's depth. I do hope one day for a expansion that provides cards with all the errata added in, and with the rulebook updated to reflect the clarifications that have come out of all these discussions, but either way this remains a majorly winning game. I felt a little silly asking this somewhat detail-obsessed question, and I'm thankful for the serious answers.

P.S. Do you guys ever bring in "occasional" characters, say like a Lem that nobody in particular is responsible for, but who just comes along on various scenarios?

A couple of times we have played with the character for someone who is regularly there but couldn't make it. That way they still would qualify for the upgrades. If it happened too much, I would just write down their deck list and then put all their cards back in the box. The party didn't seem to suffer too much if they later rejoined and were missing a feat or two.
