No-link for the Java?

Website Feedback

Someone on a thread of mine was attempting to link to a Java page (a ".htm" java page, if that makes any difference). It did not work. Is this intentional? If so, why - I mean, what is the reasoning?

For the record, I'm not complaining; rather I am curious and asking instead of upset.

Can you give me a little more context? Were you attempting to send a link to a page on the Paizo site? If so, it should have worked fine although some pages may required you to log in to view (and their contents may vary given who is looking at them).

The link simply doesn't function at all.

The problem is that, when you code it for linking, the url doesn't show up at all.

I'll link both to Wikipedia and the Java script thing.

I wasn't actually doing the linking - it was a player who shared a cool Java-script Calculator.

If you actually quote this post, you can see that the "Java Calculator" is supposed to be a url-link to the written url above.

Fascinating, Captain.

With no basis whatsoever, I'd say the post-scrubbing engine is picking up on the "javascript" in the URL and stripping the link.

Just a guess though :)

Huh. Weird. Thanks!

It's a feature!

Don't run Java in your browser unless you have to.

Java and JavaScript are two different things, just FYI.

Car is to carpet as Java is to JavaScript.
