Crusader's Flurry and Sacred Fist. Flurrying with Longbow and Rapid Shot / Manyshot

Advice

Just a potential idea after perusing the ACG all weekend.

I assume that if your Deity's Favored Weapon is a longbow (not sure which one off the top of my head, I don't play a lot of Pathfinder Setting specific stuff) and you can qualify for Crusader's Flurry that you can flurry with a longbow.

Interestingly enough I don't see any language under a basic monk's FoB that it has to be melee. If there is, I don't see it.

So with that being said you can make a pretty sweet Warpriest archer (or regular cleric/monk for that matter). It IS pretty MAD though. Not sure if it's worth it to lose 3 levels in Warpriest to get the Wisdom to bow attacks from Zen Archer.

This doesn't sound fun to play before you get Crusader's Flurry at 5th. I guess there's always retraining.

And his AC would be abysmal. Maybe it really is worth a one level dip into Monk just for the extra feat and AC bump.

Sample build 20 pt buy (probably too MAD for 15 pt buy) Human
Str 14
Dex 19
Con 10
Int 7
Wisdom 16
Cha 7

Feats
1 Point Blank Shot
H Precise Shot
3 Rapid Shot
5 Crusader's Flurry
7 Deadly Aim

Not sure what else would work for this build. Any good Style Feats to take at 6th?

Also, any way to consolidate the feats? Besides dipping? I really don't like the idea of waiting until level 7 to get Deadly Aim.

Any input would be appreciated! Thanks!

Silver Crusade

I would probably dip sohei with this build. You don't want to dip ZAM or else you can't use Rapid Shot and Many Shot with Flurry of Bows.

Oh, and Erastil is the longbow goddess.

The unfortunate downside of your build is that crusaders flurry specifically says focus in a deity's favored MELEE weapon, so it wouldn't work with Erastil's longbow.

If you start with Zen Archer, you get two archery-based bonus feats and you can flurry with a bow at level 1. Also, Zen Archer also gets Point Blank Master for free at level 3, which makes it a nice 3-level dip for any bow-using character.

The only issue is that a Zen Archer's flurry specifically can't be used with Rapid Shot and Manyshot.

If you wanted to go with Crusader's Flurry, you would need a different archetype of monk or maybe a 2-level dip into Brawler (from advanced class guide). For deities, you can go with Erastil, Cernunnos, Ylimancha, or a few demon lords if your GM allows it.

Your GM might not let you combine Crusader's Flurry with Rapid Shot or Manyshot, especially since the Zen Archer's flurry specifically disallows it. The text of Crusader's Flurry doesn't include that restriction, but your GM could rule that the developers did not intend to allow Rapid Shot to stack with flurry.

Even if you GM allows it, you'd be taking a net -4 to all attacks, and if any creature is between you and the target, you'll take an additional -2 to -4 (depending on the size of the creature and the target).

Solidchaos is right, the prereqs for Crusader's Flurry call out a melee weapon.

Is this worth doing with thrown weapons? Maybe starknives, chakra, or daggers?

Also worth noting, you need to reaquire your proficiency in your deity's weapon as well, as thats one of the things traded away. Of course it still doesn't let you use ranged, but worth noting anyways.

Pharasma w/daggers & her Deific Obedience maybe.

G!~~%+nit, I didn't catch the Melee part in the prereqs for Crusader's Flurry. It doesn't list it in the Benefit text either. Damn.

Are there any gods with multiple favored weapons?
