No. You must take the feat as per usual but when you take it you can use it as many times as a monk would. The monk gets it through a class feature that the Brawler does not have.
No, I get that I need to take it. But it's not giving me the option. I would have thought I would be given the option to take it as one of my first level feats but it looks like I may not be able to take it until 8th level. Does this sound right or is it a problem with hero lab?

First off, HeroLab is not a rules source. To check if there is a problem with the rules, you should actually check the rules.
It is clear you have not done so, because it's quite clearly answered in the Feat's text.
Prerequisites: Dex 13, Wis 13, Improved Unarmed Strike, base attack bonus +8.
You do not have BaB +8 at 1st level, so you cannot take the Feat. Simple as that.
In this case, HeroLab is correct, but there are many times it isn't, or it is correct but only for certain classes, not taking into account corner cases, etc.
The Monk has a class feature called Stunning Fist that gives him the Feat "even if he does not meet the prerequisites". The Brawler lacks this class feature, so he cannot take it at 1st.

Hi, thanks for your completely condescending answer. Even if it's right, there's no reason to be a dick although I don't know why I expected different from the internet.
Anyway, I read the feat, I was asking for clarification. There are many feats that give a monk level where they can take it and part of the brawler is that it's levels count as mink levels and it specifically calls out stunning fist as an ability that counts for this. They would never have needed to write that stunning fist is a bonus feat that a monk can take at first level because, when the rule was written, there were no archetypes and every monk had it. I was simply wondering if there had been some sort of errata when other monks came out that allowed them to take stunning fist earlier since some of the archetypes give that option up.
I think it's a perfectly valid question and that's why I asked it. If you have a problem with a question, move on and try not to be a dick all the time. Thanks.
