The Best (Non-Magical) Equipment For Your Party

Advice

We've all been in that situation... you know, the one where party members got so caught up in their new enchanted armor or sorcerous swords that they forgot to bring the basics. Like torches, rope, or a waterskin. For those who remember that all adventurers really need to bring the tools of their trade with them, here's a list of some of the best items to have in your pack before tackling your next dungeon. As always, brought to you courtesy of Improved Initiative.

The Best Non-Magical Equipment For Your Party

The Exchange

ok so just going to list it out here, a net, pitons and hammer, good rope, manacles, grappling hook, climbing kit, cold weather outfit, spring loaded wrist sheath, weapon strap, alchemist fire, flask of acid, smokestick, sun rod, bag full of rocks. back up weapon. glue, paper and charcoal, chalk. so many more but these are all AMAZING>

I remain boggled at the number of adventurers who just don't buy normal equipment. They get armor, a melee weapon or a distance weapon (rarely both in my experience), and they think they're ready to hit the trail. Unless it's an urban game I just want to shake my head and sigh.

The Exchange

agreed mundane gear is usually cheap and very effective.

It costs 1cp for a pound of coffee. Drinking coffee halves the penalties of fatigue. Why aren't all barbarians hopped up on a cuppa brew?

I am still planning a drugs and substances list, so I think I'll add coffee to that one. Might be useful for taking the edge off of other drugs as well...
