Hi all, I'm working on an upcoming session and the whole point of the BBEG is that he hates magic. Working with his backstory it would be acceptable for him to be pretty much any race and class. But since he's going to be operating within an AMF, I figure it makes sense to make him martial.
First thought is either barbarian, fighter, or samurai since they are pretty much exclusively EX, but I was wondering if mythic makes anything else make more sense.
I'm thinking level 18/ Mythic level 8.
I don't need a whole build, just some advice on whether there's any must have abilities or really just what's the best options for fighting exclusively EX.
Thanks...

Martial BBEGS don't work too well past level 5 especially if they don't have magic to back them up. If he is in an antimagic field his magic items won't work, and the casters still have ways to use magic against him even if they can not target him directly.
Basically you are going to have to break some rules to give him a decent chance at not getting steamrolled by the party, if you go this route. So now the question is how much is he going to be tied to the rules?

My suggestion is to make him psionic, make him talk about how weak those who use the crutch of magic are, and how his strength comes from his mind.
One problem emerges when the DM does as you suggest. In the psionics guide it suggests 2 models for the GM to use. Magic and psionics are essentially the same and mimic each other or the are distinctly different and are not interchangeable. The first method means the AMF still blocks psionics. The second does not.
This is a problem if the GM makes a char specifically designed to exploit the second method so too can the players and wreck a much greater damage than the GM planned to provide.

Some basically something like a Mythic Iron Colossus?
I agree with wraithstrike that an anti magic field of his own will hamper your BBEG, so I would be careful about having him fight within one. Mythic makes melee classes extremely mobile, and Mythic Vital Strike is pretty much broken, so something like a superstitious barbarian would be extremely threatening, and I guess you have access to Shatter Spells to dispel magical barriers and so on. If you don't want him fighting in an Anti Magic Field, but still want the magic hatred, then there are a ton of classes / archtypes that support that but I'm not entirely sure on how you want to play that.

Invulnerable Rager, max DR (which they won't be able to get around without special weapon materials since the magic bonuses don't work) and tie the Mythic AMF to his armor.
Incredibly resilient, and if they back off he can pull out a longbow and start shooting. Note: Magic arrows will resume functioning when they leave the field. He wants magic ammunition, not a magic bow.

Thanks for the suggestions. Yeah, the players are going to pocket dimensions all the time, so they will be stuck in one with a persistent AMF everywhere.
They will all have one minor artifact by the time they get there. So they will still have some magic.
Definitely checking out a mobile barbarian build.
