hey all i am very curious about the ruleing here and i havent seen any info about the offical ruling yet. cuase im all sorts of confused lol, people say its ammunition, others say its a full weapon, wich is also wierd but i wish someone knew the truth.
can you draw a card from the deck as a free action like ammo or is it a move action to draw a single card?
and whats the cost of actually enchanting them? is it ammo like it says or is it a full weapon?
these are questions i'd love answerd cuase i am planing on making a Kitsune Cartomancer for PFS lol thanks all :)

The feat says the deck functions as a ranged weapon with 54 pieces of ammo. There isn't a difference in the formula for an enchanting ammo stack or a base weapon, so it doesn't make a difference, but iirc when you normally enchant ammo you only get to enchant 30 so Deadly Dealer is more cost effective there, though obviously less so than something like a bow as you still only have 54 shots for your money.

Darts are a thrown weapon.
The feat Deadly dealer allows you to enchant a harrow deck as if it were a ranged weapon with 54 pieces of ammunition. However this only applies to enchanting the deck.
Please note there are at least 4 weapons that utilize the name dart and each are referencing something different:
Dart -- Standard throwing dart
Blowgun Dart -- Ammunition for the blowgun
Rope Dart -- Exotic weapon
Jolt Dart -- Alchemical dart
On the SRD the dart is listed as ammunition (throwing) dart. However the pathfinder reference document does not list them as such and the projectile weapon and ammunition sections of the rules do not reference them as such with the exception of blowgun darts (which is a separate weapon).
I think some people early on had mistakenly thought that darts acted like shurikens (which are treated as ammunition for many purposes), however these are separate weapons.

It says they are treated as darts, which are ammunition.
Seems pretty clear cut to me.
Darts are ammunition? Really? My copy of the Ultimate Equipment says that they are simple ranged weapons. Now if they where treated like Atlatl dart, Blowgun darts or Kestros dart then they'd be ammo.

hmm even with only being able to throw 1 a round that can still be cool since its so cheap to enchant them all, not to mention they automatically gain the returning property and arnt destroyed when thrown by a cartomancer. i did think of another question though that i really dont know.
do you need point-blank shot and percise shot to avoid peneltys for throwing into melee? lol
edit: also is it possible to enchant ammo one by one?

Yeah. Darts and Deadly Dealer's (treated as darts) are weapons which require a move action to draw, or quick draw.
Deadly Dealer's buff so to speak is the ability to enchant the cards like ammo. Granted unlike normal darts your cards will be destroyed. when a normal dart isn't destroyed. (since that's a big piece of wood or metal)
it represents having to pull one card out of the deck I guess.
So normal thrown weapon rules for wielding and throwing.
Ammo cost to enchant one Deck (as you buy them by deck and not by card)
