Scarab Sages

Supernatural was originally set for just 5 seasons. They are currently on season 11. It is getting worn very thin.

Scarab Sages

Left work early yesterday, to fetch a sick baby girl from daycare. Took her to the doctor and they think it was just a viral infection.

This morning, her fever seems to be gone and she's happily munching away on waffle fragments whilst watching Mickey Mouse.

Scarab Sages

So, here I am, stuck at home with my baby girl. At least she seems to be doing better.

American tv is just not set up that way. Hopefully netflix,Hulu and crackle will change that.

Scarab Sages

Not all American TV is set up that way. Occasionally you get gems that keep it to a set story and done....cough, cough....Babylon 5.

Scarab Sages

So, I've been checking the mail all week because my aunts have told me to expect a package for the kidlets. They said it was supposed to arrive by Wednesday or Thursday.

Yesterday, I check and, sure enough, there's a box. So I get it inside, thinking it's for them, call them over to see me open it......

....turns out it was my new Freeport setting hardcover, from the Kickstarter. Sorry kids, but at least daddy has something new and awesome!

Scarab Sages

And I can't believe I fell asleep while watching Big Trouble in Little China. WTF is wrong with me?!?

Scarab Sages

On the other hand.....on demanded Big Hero 6. Good flick.

Hmm. Mine should be coming in soon. Excellent

American TV is morphing pretty much before our eyes. I'm convinced the 'networks' will be basically out competed just because of the restrictions they have to work under. Plus, there should be a bigger wave of globalism and independent channels streamed over the Internet. Interesting times...

Scarab Sages

Man, there are some real noobs on the board these days. Sad.

Scarab Sages

On the other hand, I'm currently sitting at my dining table, drinking coffee and looking into my backyard through the window, enjoying the sunshine and what promises to be a beautiful spring day!!!

Scarab Sages

I spent a large portion of last night reading comics. This makes me happy.

Scarab Sages

After watching the new Black Sails episode, of course. What an awesome series!!

Between that and my new Freeport book, I'm having a really strong urge to run a pirate-themed adventure.

Scarab Sages

Holy Crapcakes on Fire! My baby girl sees me walk into her brother's room (where she can't go), and then proceeds to spend the next five minutes rolling on the floor and crying.

Daddy's girl much?

Scarab Sages

On the plus side, when I came back out, she spent a few minutes cuddling with me. Times like that are gold.

Scarab Sages

And now we're just hanging out while Mommy gets ready to face the outside world.

This would be awesome, if I had my old gaming group.

Scarab Sages

Anyway....gonna hang with my princess, then go do tons of stuff.

Scarab Sages

Whoa! Awesome!!!

Yaar matey!

Scarab Sages

It's going to be a loooong day.

Started off getting woken up early by baby girl. She's got a bit of a cold, and woke up early with a stuffy nose. My wife attended to her at first, and got her back down. Then, while the wife was in the shower, she woke up again. So I got her out of her crib, and brought her downstairs to lay with me, keeping her head elevated a bit so she could be more comfortable. At least I got bonus baby girl cuddles.

Now it's back in the office for the first time since early last Thursday, playing catch up and putting out fires.

Aaaaargh! Me hearty!

Scarab Sages

Ugh! Not feeling well at all. Stayed home sick today. With how it's been going for me, I'd rather minimize the number of people at risk of getting sick from me.

Rest up.

Ah, it is time for my Saturday. My real-life gaming group will be here soon to further plumb the mysteries of the ancient city of Sslan'Tok.

Scarab Sages

Feeling better and back at work today. 24 hour bug, on top of a mild cold. Stoopid kidlet's daycare/germ factory.

Scarab Sages

Still not 100% though. And the medicine I've taken this morning has me feeling a little loopy.

Scarab Sages

Luckily, I have coffee to counteract the effects and calm me....oh, wait.

Scarab Sages

Why, yes, a+!**@% vendor. I totally believe you when you say that you only noticed the error on my P&ID when it came time to actually perform the hydro on that chemical tank. I'm sure there's no way you noticed that before, and just sat on it to use as an excuse for you own delays and to bash us with.

I sense much sarcasm. This is good. Mayhaps if enough people thought that way, the boards would become a much nicer place.

Scarab Sages

My throat is raw from the sickness I've had these past few days. My voice is coming out very raspy. It sucks.

Scarab Sages

Especially for someone who is so eloquent and silver-tongued.

Scarab Sages

When people ask me why I talk so much, the response is typically "Because everything I say is so damned important."

Scarab Sages

Or something along those lines...

Scarab Sages

It's also why I have a tendency to ramble on these boards. I want to share my life, so that everyone else is a bit happier.

Scarab Sages

I'm nice that way.

Scarab Sages

All righty, now that I've done my duty to the community that was (sadly, and knowing the predilections of those in charge, most likely in vain), I shall move along and go do...stuff.

Maybe I'll get a second cup of coffee. Or, perhaps, some hot chocolate. I know it's warm outside, but the hot chocolate feels soothing to my vocal cords.

Scarab Sages

And, wow! That last post sounds really perverted.

Mornin' zombeh hope all is well in Houston

Rough day at work, but I blame myself. I should keep a tighter reign in my people.

Then, I go to pick up the boy at daycare. It's parent/teacher conference day. I took care of mine earlier in the day, via phone. When I get to his class, the boy is outside with everyone else, but his teacher is conducting a conference with a mom, her two sons (one is in the boy's class, the other looked a year or so older) are running around the class and getting in my way. I get the boy from outside and bring him in, the boy in his class grabs him from behind and starts squeezing. And it wasn't a DAMNED hug.

So, remarkably I restrain my temper, separate the boys, and send move my boy off to one side. The kids older brother started doing the same damn thing to my boy. Again, however, I showed restraint, separated them, and stayed between my boy and them.

I didn't say anything to the teacher, because (a) the mother was right there, (b) I didn't want to start anything because I was pretty pissed and didn't want to end up saying something I'd regret.

Needless to say, however, when the wife and I go to pick up the kids tomorrow, something will be said. I am not going to let some little bastard bully my boy.

Hmm. Sounds like a weird way to bully someone. Kid still needs to be straightened out, though. Maybe he's just a weird kid? Wrestling nut? I dunno. Let him feel wrath of mommy, at any rate.

It's starting to fit a pattern. My boy has, for some time now, been coming home saying he had a bad day, and more often than not saying to was because of this kid. I even specifically mentioned this kid in my teleconfernce with the teacher this morning.

Like I said, the wife and I will speak with his teacher again tomorrow. And I'll continue to show restraint....unless I witness it happening again. If that happens, someone is going to be punished.

Zombie punishment.
