So, I've been checking the mail all week because my aunts have told me to expect a package for the kidlets. They said it was supposed to arrive by Wednesday or Thursday.
Yesterday, I check and, sure enough, there's a box. So I get it inside, thinking it's for them, call them over to see me open it......
....turns out it was my new Freeport setting hardcover, from the Kickstarter. Sorry kids, but at least daddy has something new and awesome!

American TV is morphing pretty much before our eyes. I'm convinced the 'networks' will be basically out competed just because of the restrictions they have to work under. Plus, there should be a bigger wave of globalism and independent channels streamed over the Internet. Interesting times...

It's going to be a loooong day.
Started off getting woken up early by baby girl. She's got a bit of a cold, and woke up early with a stuffy nose. My wife attended to her at first, and got her back down. Then, while the wife was in the shower, she woke up again. So I got her out of her crib, and brought her downstairs to lay with me, keeping her head elevated a bit so she could be more comfortable. At least I got bonus baby girl cuddles.
Now it's back in the office for the first time since early last Thursday, playing catch up and putting out fires.

Why, yes, a+!**@% vendor. I totally believe you when you say that you only noticed the error on my P&ID when it came time to actually perform the hydro on that chemical tank. I'm sure there's no way you noticed that before, and just sat on it to use as an excuse for you own delays and to bash us with.

All righty, now that I've done my duty to the community that was (sadly, and knowing the predilections of those in charge, most likely in vain), I shall move along and go do...stuff.
Maybe I'll get a second cup of coffee. Or, perhaps, some hot chocolate. I know it's warm outside, but the hot chocolate feels soothing to my vocal cords.

Then, I go to pick up the boy at daycare. It's parent/teacher conference day. I took care of mine earlier in the day, via phone. When I get to his class, the boy is outside with everyone else, but his teacher is conducting a conference with a mom, her two sons (one is in the boy's class, the other looked a year or so older) are running around the class and getting in my way. I get the boy from outside and bring him in, the boy in his class grabs him from behind and starts squeezing. And it wasn't a DAMNED hug.
So, remarkably I restrain my temper, separate the boys, and send move my boy off to one side. The kids older brother started doing the same damn thing to my boy. Again, however, I showed restraint, separated them, and stayed between my boy and them.
I didn't say anything to the teacher, because (a) the mother was right there, (b) I didn't want to start anything because I was pretty pissed and didn't want to end up saying something I'd regret.
Needless to say, however, when the wife and I go to pick up the kids tomorrow, something will be said. I am not going to let some little bastard bully my boy.

Hmm. Sounds like a weird way to bully someone. Kid still needs to be straightened out, though. Maybe he's just a weird kid? Wrestling nut? I dunno. Let him feel wrath of mommy, at any rate.
It's starting to fit a pattern. My boy has, for some time now, been coming home saying he had a bad day, and more often than not saying to was because of this kid. I even specifically mentioned this kid in my teleconfernce with the teacher this morning.
Like I said, the wife and I will speak with his teacher again tomorrow. And I'll continue to show restraint....unless I witness it happening again. If that happens, someone is going to be punished.
