My boy was given the task of getting a picture of an animal for a school project. He got to choose from a number of animals, and was asked to pick one he likes. He picked a Blue Jay.
This saddens and shames me. In high school, we were the Holy Cross Tigers. Our biggest rivals were the Jesuit...Blue Jays.
Oh, the betrayal.

"How much do I owe you?" said the husband to his wife,
"For standing beside me through the hard years of my life.
"Shall I bring you diamonds, shall I buy you furs?
"Say the word and it's yours.
And his wife said: "I won't take less than your love, sweet love.
"No, I won't take less than your love.
"All the riches of the world could never be enough,
"And I won't take less than your love."
"How much do I owe you?" to the mother said the son.
"For all that you have taught me in the days that I was young.
"Shall I bring expensive blankets to cast upon your bed?
"And a pillow for to rest your weary head."
And the mother said: "I won't take less than your love, sweet love.
"No, I won't take less than your love.
"All the comforts of the world could never be enough,
"And I won't take less than your love."
"How much do I owe you?" said the man to his Lord.
"For giving me this day and every day that's gone before.
"Shall I build a temple, shall I make a sacrifice?
"Tell me Lord and I will pay the price."
And the Lord said: "I won't take less than your love, sweet love.
"No, I won't take less than your love.
"All the treasures of the world could never be enough,
"And I won't take less than your love."
"I won't take less than your love, sweet love.
"No, I won't take less than your love.
"All the treasures of the world could never be enough,
"And I won't take less than your love."
"No, I won't take less than your love."

At some point today, I shall continue my job searching. I shall also continue to patiently await the release of the next major update for Diablo III, which shall contain the new Necromancer class, as well as additional areas to explore.
I too am looking forward to the new Necromancer class. Any idea when it comes out?

The only timeframe I've seen is sometime later this year, possibly in the second half of the year. Just a few days ago they put up something about Beta Testing starting soon. I briefly considered doing that, but changed my mind.
From everything I've seen, they'll also be adding some new areas to explore and play in. Maybe even some new side quests and bounties. I don't think it will be a full-blown expansion like Reaper of Souls. Maybe just a mini-expansion.
In the meantime, I've been having fun with some of my characters. I'll jump on every now and then to try and acquire set items, which I've discovered can truly turn characters into killing machines. My first barbarian character is kind of like Tasmanian Devil from the cartoons.

Baby girl was feeling blah again this morning, plus she was breaking out in a rash again. So we kept her home. Now we're wondering if she's allergic to something.
And, yes, according to the doctor yesterday, baby girl did indeed have an allergic reaction. To what, we do not know. They think it was probably environmental.

Follow up:
I played briefly this morning, and when I logged out of the game, the Beta Test was announced as being up. They also had some highlights of what to expect with the next big patch:
- Challenge Rifts, dungeons (apparently) created by other players.
- The Necromancer, of course
- The new Act II zones in Adventure Mode.
- 4 new Act IV Waypoints with accompanying bounties
- updated interface for set dungeons.

I keep hearin' you're concerned about my happiness
But all that thought you're givin' me is conscience I guess
If I was walkin' in your shoes, I wouldn't worry none
While you 'n' your friends are worried about me I'm havin' lots of fun
Countin' flowers on the wall
That don't bother me at all
Playin' solitaire till dawn with a deck of fifty-one
Smokin' cigarettes and watchin' Captain Kangaroo
Now don't tell me I've nothin' to do
Last night I dressed in tails, pretended I was on the town
As long as I can dream it's hard to slow this swinger down
So please don't give a thought to me, I'm really doin' fine
You can always find me here, I'm havin' quite a time
Countin' flowers on the wall
That don't bother me at all
Playin' solitaire till dawn with a deck of fifty-one
Smokin' cigarettes and watchin' Captain Kangaroo
Now don't tell me I've nothin' to do
It's good to see you, I must go, I know I look a fright
Anyway my eyes are not accustomed to this light
And my shoes are not accustomed to this hard concrete
So I must go back to my room and make my day complete
Countin' flowers on the wall
That don't bother me at all
Playin' solitaire till dawn with a deck of fifty-one
Smokin' cigarettes and watchin' Captain Kangaroo
Now don't tell me I've nothin' to do
Don't tell me I've nothin' to do

I'm not a dedicated fan of country music, but I love a lot of the older stuff, from back in the 60s-80s. I kind of grew up on it. My mom would play it all the time on the car radio.
Anyway, The Statler Brothers was definitely one of the groups I liked. There music was very barber shop quartet-ish. The song whose lyrics I just posted came on the radio this morning. Good music to drive by.

And then there are other days when I'm more into Black Sabbath or Metallica. The Police. Classic Rock. Maybe some 80s pop. Enya (Yes, I like her. Go f$%& yourself if you don't). Maybe some Gregorian Chant. Maybe even some classical music (I got a lot of play from my Tchaikovsky cassette of the Nutcracker), jazz (some Charlie Parker, Miles Davis, or Louis Armstrong), or crooner music (one of my favorites was Nat Cole, who was also a gifted jazz musician). Hell, I even like reggae.
Basically, I have a robustly eclectic taste in music.

I almost never want to listen to any kind of talk radio or the various morning/afternoon shows. I prefer music.
The only exception was back during my early Philly days. I was taking a few night classes for a master's degree, since they offered them at work, and driving home I'd listen to Dee Snyder. His shows kicked ass.

Had a very Good Friday. Started off with a relatively quiet morning, then lunch with the family at Tailgators. The wife and I had boiled crawfish, while the kids had....other stuff. Then it was a quiet afternoon of watching Godzilla versus Destroyah with the boy, followed by some recipe perusing in preparation for Sunday.

My parent's once owned a small summer home in Bay St. Louis, Mississippi. Actually, it was more of a whenever we felt like going their on the weekends home. We bought it sometime in the mid 80s, fixed it up, and spent lots of time their. Good times.
For me, however, it was also more than a place to visit. For a time, I used it as my permanent residence. Maybe that's why I find myself missing it.

I currently have a pork loin soaking in an apple-sage marinade. It's got apple cider, apple brandy, apple vinegar, canola oil, shallots, honey, sage, and some salt and pepper.
Tomorrow, I shall wrap the pork loin in some Applewood bacon and smoke it for a few hours. Not sure what type of wood I'll use. I've got seven different types to choose from. Probably some apple wood. Maybe some hickory or maple. I've also got pecan, cherry, orange, and mesquite.
