Shadow Lodge

HI i'm working on a gnome summoner i noticed the gnome has

Add +1 hit point to the summoner’s eidolon.

is there any way to possibly have the half elf abtility without making my gnome a half elf which is

Add +¼ to the eidolon’s evolution pool.

i feel the points will be wasted if i switch to half elf since they be used to make my summon bigger so i can ride it as a medium sized creature when i can ride it for free as a small sized

No.

What you CAN do is make a small-sized Aasimar character, with the Scion of Humanity racial trait, then take the Racial Heritage: Half-Elf feat. Now you're small, and you get that sweet +1/4 evolution point.

You Can make a fine and powerfull summoner without the 1/2elf favored class bonus.

Combining the small-sized Aasimar fluff and the Scion of Humanity fluff gives contradicting fluff - and I'd expect a lot of GMs to hold it against you as loopholery.

Also, a summoner works fine without the half-elf bonus. If you really want extra evolution points take the feat for that (possibly even multiple times), but you can do fine without them. The eidolon is a pretty solid class ability as written and using your resources on the summoner itself can help you better abuse your improved action economy.

Goblins get a similar (limited to fire evolutions) ability if that helps.

Just saying, I've played dozens of summoners as they are my favourite class, when it comes to combat, the eidolons become inferior to the hosts of creatures summon monster gives you.

So just play gnome you guys are saying?

Shadow Lodge

my idea is to have a Sorta Bettlejuice sand worm for my eidolons that i can ride around and hurl spells at.

Let me get a picture
