Currently the plan is to have a web interface for GMs to submit games to. The games will then automatically list in a game registry, in a central location, for players to find sign-ups. GMs will then submit results from the same listing. That is the plan, at least. :)
How is VTT GameDay 4 going to work? Any official organization, or will it be like the PbP gamedays -- report your game through the event, and boons might be available to some lucky players?

Sorry - No. I got a voluminous number of emails asking me to not post it out the weekend of PaizoCon so I delayed it until tomorrow evening.
Apologize for not making the new date clearer.
Did the VTT Gameday 4 GM info get posted somewhere on July 10? If so, I missed it; does anybody have the link?

There are generally 4-10 conventions every weekend happening somewhere in the world
Someone is going to see the schedule the day after their con ends.

VTT Game Day 4: https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/pathfinder-society-online-collectiv e/Z1lDwmpJ2y4
Will repost here in a more proper way when I get home, but the information is posted at the link above for now, since I could post that by email.
Sorry for the delay.

Yes.
GMs running games will get one GM Boon (as yet, not determined what that will be until after GenCon 2014).
GMs will also be qualified to win regular boons and prizes along with the players, in addition to the GM boon they receive.
More information will come in the official open call for players and GMs in a couple of weeks.

Is there a cutoff for when we can advertise a game? I'm moving soon, and want to make sure I'm situated and so forth before I decide if it makes sense to advertise a game this day. (I'll probably also wait to see what other people are offering to make sure I offer a scenario that's not "saturated". Despite the encouragement to run late Season 5 and early Season 6, I might offer an earlier-season game... we shall see.)

We will submit the session list to Paizo on Thursday, August 21st, 2014 at Noon EDT US [UTC -4] so GMs have a full week to prep. So, as long as it is submitted by then GMs will get scenario support and have the scenario added to their account.
People can still submit games at anytime after that deadline, all the way up to the day of the event, but you will not get the scenario added to your account if you submit after August 21st, 2014 at 12:00 PM EDT [UTC-4].
(Submitting by the deadline above will also help us determine if we can reach the table threshold to start adding Bonekeep 2 and 3 to the list.)
Older scenarios are very welcome and encouraged. Variety is a good thing. :)

OK, cool. I actually already own all of the scenarios from Seasons 0 through 4 (I can't resist buying them when one of the sales comes up...), and half of them from Seasons 5. But, in any event, an August 21 cutoff should be plenty of time for me to figure out if I'm going to be in a position to be able to run a game from my new location.
(Comcast willing.)

Alrighty, the decision has been made to push the PbP Game Day back a little bit to give you guys more time to recruit and to give us some time to open us some dialogues with you guys about how to better run the PbP game days.
I will still post up the event tonight, but we will likely push the start date back about 2-4 weeks.
Thanks and talk to you guys soon.

I don't suppose it's possible to edit the first post of the thread? I suspect some folks (like, say, me) might use it as a reference, and having that October 5 date still listed there even though it's wrong may cause confusion.
(I believe, though, that it's not possible to edit the first post of the thread, alas.)

It can be done, but generally Paizo is a bit reluctant to do so unless its a major issue. For example, during the ACG playtest they did to incorporate a few changes, and doing so can cause just as many confusion issues as it solves. Doing it here may or may not, but we should be getting word on things fairly soon. Im not a VC/VL, so this is by no means official, but in the past there have been threads dedicated to the various individual online Game Days, which should help.
:)

Typically, a little bit before it is scheduled to begin, there will be an announcement post that clarifies it all. Not being experienced is not generally an issue, (though it might be a good idea to tell the players up front to avoid any possible issues later).
For example, HERE was the announcement for the last Game Day. It should be pretty safe to assume that most of the guidelines and assumptions will be the same or similar, (outside of the dates).
I would assume we will probably be getting some word around the start of October, give or take, but you are free to begin recruiting, thinking of a game or two you are interested in running, and prepping.

PbP gameday 3 starting November 1st.
If we can gather a couple of swift GMs (those that finish games within 5-6 weeks), along with daily (or faster) posters, I think there is a good chance to pull off a special. I'd certainly be game for running one.
Seeing as how PbP gamedays are the only 'convention' some people have access to, it would be nice way to include these people. I'd love to have a go at 6-00!

I´m in on the game day.
Also ran 6-00 before. Would be a nice thing to offer that to a lot of people. Due to the nature of the scenario it might be difficult though.
Specials nearly always require communication and coordination. That could only be done with time frames and some extra reporting in between.
Then, running scenarios as fast as possible or in 5-6 weeks is not always a good thing. I´ve seen some terrible rushing there, just ushering people from point to point and fight to fight. Better have some roleplay and interaction in there, makes for a better experience in my eyes.
The quality of a GM is surely not measured in how fast one concludes the scenarios!

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

I'll volunteer to DM a special if you need.
As for rushing the scenario, it doesn't need to be that bad. It's more on the DM to keep things moving and the players to post often, but also to be very proactive rather than waiting around for others to post or the DM to ask for things. It can go well, but it can also go very poorly. I agree, blitzing through a scenario is not a measure of a good/bad DM, and if done poorly, (letting the story and flow fall behind to push forward) it tends to be a very boring and unsatisfying experience.
If it is going to be 6-00 (5-99?), can I suggest that it is set up well before hand which Factions a particular DM will take, and make a large effort to coordinate with the players to get the right ones with the right DM's?
For example, one DM take Silver Crusade, Taldor/Sov .Court, and Andoran/Liberty's Edge (the ones I'm most interested in)
Another (just an example) take Sczarni/Qadira/Exchange, Cheliax/Darkive, and maybe one other as needed.
A third take Osirion/ScarSages, Grand Lodge, and maybe one other.
Other DM could take whatever Factions are most needed.
My understanding is that the Specials are all out of game timed events, so if the players are aware of this, it shouldn't be an issue. I also believe that they are sort of designed so that when it's time for everyone to move on, it sort of works with the story, (like something major happens that changes the scene rather than "ok, times up, lets move on").
