Printable battlemaps and VT maps for Mummy's Mask - The Half-Dead City (Complete)
Maps By: Billy Watford
Program Used: Dundjinni

.JPG Preview = Small preview of the entire map. Lets you see the content before downloading the larger files.

PDF Battlemap = Suitable for printing and assembly on standard sized paper.

PNG High resolution = Exported map image at 200dpi .PNG images. These images will serve two purposes.

First - If someone wants to take the file to a print shop or kinkos they can be printed out on a large format printer and will print to scale at 1" per 5 foot for use with miniatures. That way you get one map without having to put the pdf together however this option can get expensive.

Second - If you want to use them for VT you can scale them down depending on the VT you are using. Most virtual tabletop programs tend to use maps at 50 or 100 pixels per grid square. Battlegrounds works best with maps that are 122 pixels per grid square (this ensures no pixelation even at full zoom). The images I will be uploading is at 200 pixels per grid so they will scale down to whatever you will need, just use a graphics program to re-size the images. I don't suggest using .JPG as they will loose a lot of clarity.

Designers Note: A lot of work goes into these maps. They are better than most maps put out by Pazio itself that they charge you for. Unfornunately they will not let me sell by maps that I create for their games so I have to work off a donation system. With that said if you use these maps PLEASE consider donating to the author (me) for the time spent creating, hosting the files and posting them for everyone to download.

VERY nice work. If I wasn't building 3D terrain for some of this, I'd be using them. Still may for the bigger areas. Thanks for contributing! You should put this on pfsprep.com if you haven't already.

Thank you, thank you, thank you. So busy these days you have saved me a huge amount of time. Excellent work sir. I get paid on the 20th if it is ok with you I will hit your wish list. Hoping you continue with the rest of the path.

@Makren Demise

Thank you.

donated. awesome work. please keep it up

Thank you Windspirit.

Funny, I was just about to post a questions about Mummy's Mask. It's my first AP and I was expecting table maps and was wondering if they were offered in a separate pack.

@ d6Veteran

The AP's do not come with maps to use on the tabletop, even the Pazio Map Folio's for the AP's are not to size where you could use them on the table.

However if you use my links above for the Printable PDF Battlemaps you can print them off on standard sized paper and then cut and assemble them together and they are already sized for the tabletop. 1" = 5'

I hope this is what you were asking.

These are really fantastic, and my group has loved them so far. Are you planning to make more of them for the other books in the adventure path?

Yes I will be doing the entire AP, as my campaign group needs them. right now we play every two weeks so you may get ahead of the map making....

Heh, we also play every two weeks. They just entered the House of Pentheru.

Great news, though! They're really fantastic.

We started using the maps in the House. Really cool stuff. Looking FW to the other maps, looking at some of them...could be quite the paper war... but none the less, EPIC :)

Liberty's Edge

This is outstanding work. My only regret is that I appear to have progressed well beyond the maps which are now available. Nevertheless, thanks greatly for this.

Liberty's Edge

I am so incredibly impressed with these maps - my group is just about to start playing Mummy's Mask and I cannot wait to see their faces when I pull the first one out (even if it is completely covered at the start)!

Thank you for this - once I get a little more cash in my pocket you can expect a donation.

I love these and already donated! Question:

If you use tabletop maps like these, how do you deal with secret doors, etc? Even using paper to reveal each room, won't it be obvious that there is something behind that wall?

Well there is multiple ways I have seen it done.

1. I have seen the rooms and halls be cut out individual and placed down as the characters discover them. I believe when they did this however they mounted the cut out pieces on foamcore first.

2. I have seen people use a fog of war method where they keep covered everywhere they have explored and where they have not by using paper. That way there is not one single area that is still covered when they are done and they go. "Oh Hey, there must be a secret room there."

3. However what I do is cover my map with blank newsprint first. (Find it in the shipping supplies at Walmart.) I tape this down and cut out the corridors and rooms so the newsprint only covers the secret rooms and solid wall sections. The reason for this is so the players do not see any wall that is solid, then they can guess away. After I cover it with the newsprint and secure the newsprint to the map then I will cover the rest with cardstock/construction paper, etc.

If they have explored around a section enough to know or rationalize something is in the middle then I assume their characters would do the same if they are keeping a map in game. Then they can search and try to figure out where the secret door is. Knowing its there and finding its entrance can be a game unto itself.

Thank you so much! I mounted all the rooms on foamcore, and it looks amazing. It only took a couple of hours, and I used less than one full piece of foamcore, so it wasn't too expensive. This Sunday is my first session, and I can't wait for the big reveal. I hope you are still planning on producing maps for the rest of the AP? I'm happy to donate again for the next batch!

Dark Archive

I absolutely love this, and I will definitely be donating, both for this and for future Works. Hell, I'dd pay for this kind of map for any Paizo product.

I have one request, though. Could you make the pages in the pdf overlap a bit? I print them out and glue them to cardboard, and I find it a bit difficult to make them fit precicely, but a bit of overlap would help tremendously. I could probably do it myself from the .png, but I'm not that tech-savvy.

Make sure that when you print the PDF in Acrobat that your print is set to "actual size" and it is not trying to auto fit them in anyway or they will be hard to match up.

You can also use the free program PosteRazor to cut up the PNG to print size and get overlap if you like.

How are the maps for Empty Graves going?

Dark Archive

I'm running out of maps, and I've become totally dependant on them. Is the next installment anywhere close? I WILL donate!

Sovereign Court

Worth making a donation ... boy this was a TIME Saver! Thank you, Thank you.

Thank you GM Master "D"

Dark Archive

Donated.

Thank you Entropi.

Liberty's Edge

How much do I have to donate to get the Empty Graves maps?;)

Dark Archive

Seconded.

I have not had the free time to work on the maps for Empty Graves at the moment, so as of this posting there are no maps to get. Hopefully in the future I will have more free time to get back to mapping these.

The question is....how much $ would u need to take the time to do the maps....crowd funding here we come!

Ok, (digging self out from under clutter) I think I have some time to get to work on the next book....

Please donate, the more people that donate the faster I can get book 2 done.

Thanks in advance, should have the first map out in a couple days.

Ok the first map for Empty Graves is up....

The Canny Jackal

Welcome back bwatford.... you were missed!

Thanks Helikon.

Any chances to revive our Mummy Mask game?

Helikon,

I don't want to push it just yet and get back into a bind as far as time goes.

Are all the same players still around?

A good question... I would have to check.
Maybe we can share a pint and you tell me what happend and I tell you what happend here.

Dark Archive

Great stuff!

Grand Lodge

I have only looked at the first one in detail, and scanned the second. Some things I noticed.

The hallway for A4 is far too short. This is important, as the longer the hallway, the more likely you are to catch more PCs in it.

The hallway in A11 still makes it look like the collapsed area to the south is clear level floor with a pile of rubble in the middle, rather than looking like a wall in a state of collapse. Also the sand pile the sandling is hiding in is absent. You had some nice sand in the second map, it would have been good added here.

The room for A12 is described as "tiled in a white spiral pattern on a black background. I assumed that meant a single white spiral made up of mosaic tiles. (In fact I had the wide end of the spiral under the tapestry depicting pharasma's realm. It will be interesting to see how many PCs insist on not stepping on the black tiles... )

The platform in A15 is described as square, but in your map it is round. Also, the positioning of your statues forces the players to the outside edge of the room if they want to avoid the platform, which could be unfortunate.

The gilded sarcophogas in A15 and A18 are replaced with stone sepulchurs of a European design in your map.

Other than that, I like what you did with many of the treasures. Particularly the Diorama in A8.

Donated. These are fantastic. They've been helping out my Mummy's Mask campaign immensely on Foundry.
