What build to use to support a raging half orc barbarian?!

Advice

Hey all!

I'm looking for advice in what to pick/how to build.

Pathfinder Society:

So what do you reccomend I build?

Ultimate healer/buffer - Cleric? Oracle? Bard? Life Shaman?

How do I build this character?

My wife is going to play your straight-forward hulking Half-orc barbarian "me am smash!", who will be an invulnerable rager archetype (and maybe the unbreakable fighter). You know, simple, straight forward combatant with no brains, all brawn and hard to kill. (if you have any advice on how to build a character like that, that would be fun, but that's not really what I need right now.)

My question is: I am going to build a character that is completely in service of that character. A 'personal healbot/buffer/protector/make-sure-the-damned-raging-barbarian-stays-up-and -running'.

Thanks for your ideas!

Cleric is somewhat iffy, since a lot of their best buffs are morale bonuses and thus don't stack with rage ... but you're going to need to patch the barbarian up constantly, so access to craploads of healing is probably a good thing.

Evangelist Cleric.

The Archetype gives Bardic Performance. That plus Clerical Healing and Buffing is pretty much ideal. You can even channel Energy to get through her Superstition (since Superstition doesn't necessitate Saves vs. Supernatural stuff...your Channel Energy is pretty low, but it helps).

Throw in some summoning for utility and extra bodies and you have an excellent character in it's own right, too. Race is relatively unimportant, though I'd go Human for the extra Feat. Build is solidly Caster Cleric, with a bit of skills in areas the Barbarian lacks.

Alternately, Bard is also an excellent choice, though its healing abilities don't hold a candle to a Cleric's, its buffing is actually better and it gives you all the skills you need to handle out-of-combat stuff.

Life Oracle would work...but is only so-so as a buffer comparatively (though the best healer in the game). Any of the three will also almost certainly make you the social character of the pair, just for the record.

They stack with Rage if they're to different things. A morale bonus to Str and a morale bonus to attack stack just fine, for example. Saves are the only place I'd even see this being an issue.

Get the requirements for Shadowdancer and dip into that. Ultimate maneuverability, able to stealth in plain sight, massive damage. It's the ultimate guerrilla warfare character.

Getting talents/feats/archetype to enhance weapon reach would be nice if the rest of the party has everything else covered already. She would be the patrolling shadow of death, the grim reaper if you will. Such a sexy combo

Archivist Bard. Dweeb-y professor to the "hulk smash" partner. Your bonuses change from Morale to Insight bonuses as you call out advice on how to best fight your foes.

Use nets or reach weapons to stay out of range of nasties but within 30' in order to grant the Insight bonus and use spells like Saving Finale to keep her up and smashing.

As for your wife's character, Sacred Tattoo is always good, especially paired with the Fate's Favored trait.
