So this is pretty cool. I am a little torn, though. I play in a few large groups, so this mat makes sense, but it seems like overkill when I am soloing or just playing with my wife. If the other side was designed for less people, then I would be all for this. I might still get it anyways.
Will this be made out of the same material as the Character mats?

Raccoonpad?
Capybarapad?
Is this something that will be released at the same time as Skulls and Shackles? Would we be able to add this to our subscription order to have them shipped together?

I believe that they will be released near the same time, but I'm not 100% certain.
Putting it your sidecart will guarantee that it's shipped along with the next possible subscription.... but if the mat is released a few days after the card game product, it'll wait until the *next* sub shipment.

Is this a part of the regular subscription?
No, it is not part of the subscription. But if you are a subscriber and order it from Paizo, you will received 20% off the price.

Will this be available at GenCon in the Paizo booth this year?
We hope so! (They're an Ultra PRO product, so the production and delivery are outside of our control, but that's the goal!)
Will there be a table boon for playing on this mat akin to the character mats?

I like playing on the mat, but we noticed one thing: there's not really a space to put the token cards.
We put the token cards so that a corner of them overlaps the art area of the character's location card. You could also put them below the location decks, extending off the mat.
Back at PaizoCon 2014, did I not see a Skull and Shackles version of the mat?
There are character mats for Skull & Shackles (Base Set, Add-On Deck, Ranzak), but there has only ever been one design for the Adventure Mat.
It should be noted somewhere that because of the size and shape it ships separately from other parts of the order.
I have put this thing in my cart and then taken it out again three different times because I just can't bring myself to buy it without a natural place to put the token cards. I mean, didn't the designers of this thing even PLAY the game before sending this mat straight to production?
The designers of the game pretty much *always* play with this mat, as do I. (It's actually gotten hard for me to imagine playing without it.)
Most of us put the token cards so that they're partly overlapping the image part of the location card (yes, there's room there). Some of us just put them in the general area of the location deck (where there's even more room).
If we'd designed in spaces for up to six token cards at each location deck, this mat would be *way* bigger than it needs to be—and that space would be a total waste to people who use minis or pawns, which most people just pile up on the location card itself.
