Gnome Gunslinger looking for Multiclass

Advice

i'm currently playing a Gnome Gunslinger, Mysterious Stranger.

Now, most of the time i'm not useful in combat, this has not been a big problem (i built the character for roleplay, and i'm not trying to optimize).

Now i decided to multiclass, just to have more resources when i've not my pistol;

i was thinking about Magic, and because of my charisma, summoner.

My stats:

STR 5
DEX 18
CON i can't really remember that (i will post that when i've my sheet)
INT 10
WIS 10
CHA 17

Gunslinger Mysterious Stranger lv.4 going into 5

The party:
- Human Paladin
- Human Cavalier
- Gnome Summoner
- Half-Elf Ranger
- Aasimar Cleric

Ideas are welcome.
I was thinking of Summoner, and for this option are welcome advices on the Eidolon. The Gnome Summoner's Eidolon is Quadruped, two arms added wielding a two-handed weapon.
If you need other details just let me know.
Thanks for the help!

Sorry could you post the rest of your build?
Are you dead-set into multi-classing?

I never thought I'd hear gunslinger attached to "not useful in combat" so trying to figure out what's going on.

Is this a custom game with house rules that makes your firearm not usable?

it is a custom campaign in a custom world.

Simply sometimes (because i lose that, or because of creatures immunity) i'm not useful with my pistol, and according to my STR, i'm not useful in combat.

The rest of the build will be posted as soon as i have my sheet under my hands.

With the party lineup I'd consider a bard. You can shoot and sing...and when you cannot shoot, you can still sing.

It is difficult to switch focus this late, especially when you consider a caster, but a bard is still decent.

Unfortunate that the GM is making life difficult. Maybe the GM does not like gunslingers.

As an option: I would also ask for the possibility of simply retraining/replacing the character with a new one (with same experience and average wealth). Maybe bring in a full bard and give up the gun.

Good luck sir!

Second the bard (vanilla is fine but sound striker gives a powerful attack form not needing STR).

Gunslingers are an odd class, when built right they are very powerful but when wrong they are weak. Rapid reload feat is needed to make the class work and should be the first feat acquired, and rapid shot should be the next priority (requires point blank shot) as it is a major increase in damage potential- without those two feats a gunslinger is going to be well behind the curve.

If possible look into purchasing different types of ammo for your pistol to handle immunities.

thanks for the advices... so no way going into multiclass? maybe will fit better a thief?

rouge (thief) will be a problem as a multiclass because the backstab rules do not work well with firearms (ranged weapons)

bard is my preferred choice because a bard can contribute to combat even when he isn't able to do damage directly. I phrase it like this "a bard using inspire courage is making the other players into his weapons" - if an attack hits because of the hit bonus from inspire courage the bard has effectively hit with that attack, and for every attack another player makes which hits is in effect the bard hitting with an attack which does the damage of the inspire courage bonus.

with the character you have I like the sound striker archetype, it doesn't give up much and eventually gets the weird words attack which is awfully powerful, benefits from your dexterity to hit chance (ranged touch attack), and isn't weakened by your low strength .

thank you for the advice, i take a look!

Enlightened Paladin.

Doesn't have alignment restrictions and gives you a bunch of bonuses based on AC, a semi-smite, and later on lay on hands. Also keeps your BaB full.

Grenadier alchemist

Would be better with higher INT, but still pretty good and works with that "tinkering" feel.

Myrmidarch Magus

Gnomes have a bunch of alternate Pool powers they can get on levelup. "Free" conductive on your gun can be really good if you build around it.
