1st lvl monk(wanderers) trade a feat, for exotic weapon proficiency (which they could have bought with the feat). Does it count as a monk weapon and hence can flurry? My first thought was to use it to buy a monk exoitic weapon... but then realized we already have proficiency with all of those. I dont understand this 'feature' if it forces you to drop a feat, and learn to use a weapon you will never want.

Monks are not automatically proficient with all Monk weapons, just those listed in their entry. So, getting EWP in a Monk weapon would allow that weapon to be used proficiently and because it's a Monk weapon, it can be used to Flurry.
But not any weapon will work with Flurry. It has to have the Monk special property.

I could not find any monk weapons that were not also listed under monk proficiencies. Then i found a bunch of eastern weapons listed on a separate page - aha! Seven-bladed sword please, yoink.
Thanks!
Check out the weapons in Ultimate Equipment. Anything with "monk" listed as a special ability that isn't in the CRB is what you're looking for.
You've already found the SBS. That's a good one. Just note that when you Flurry with a two-handed weapon, all of your attacks with that weapon (during Flurries) still only do 1.0 STR to damage, not 1.5 like two-handed weapons usually do. Outside of Flurrying though, you would still do 1.5 STR.

But doesn't power attack still deal 1.5x damage? I mean, flurry makes no mention of it, and powerattck does not have any mention of what happens when a 2handed weapon doesn't deal 1.5x str damage.
So, if that is the case, then 2 handing is still rather attractive for a monk

Yes, I believe so. If I had to argue intent, I'd probably say it should be regular PA damage. But if you want to go by words on the page, it looks like 1.5. It's not enough for me to quibble about, honestly. And it's not like this is going to make the monk overpowered or anything.

Hmm... combined with the fact that monks are treated like a full BAB class during flurry, your power attack can be fairly strong, particularly when it is applied to all those hits.
Especially If you have Tiger Pounce and are able to apply the power attack penalty to your AC instead of to hit. It's like Furious Focus on every hit.
