Play-By-Post GM looking to switch to player, Need a Rise of the Runelords GM

Recruitment

I over-extended myself and I don't want to let everyone down. I would really like for somebody to take over and run the game. I have excellent players and would make a character myself to throw into the mix.

Currently the party is a hobgoblin fighter, a halfling rogue, a gnomish wizard, and an aasimar cleric. I would play something physical.

Spoilers: They've finished the festival, they've found body is missing. Right now is the very start of "Trouble at the Rusty Dragon."

They've devoted months to these characters. I'm quite obligated to see to it they see that they finish. If somebody could be available to pass the mantle I'd be very appreciative.

Bonus If it's possible to have two GMs in a roll20 campaign I have all of the maps and creatures done out and placed and will continue to do so as I also run a weekly campaign. I have the entirety of Burnt Offerings laid out and would be happy to keep it up.

Edit: We play on google groups. To not make things take forever we have two threads going simultaneously. One covers addition encounters and the other contains the main adventure. A boar hunt via PBP takes a month. There's no reason to let that make us wait for the main adventure. I can shift admin status to anyone.

We try to post once a day each weekday.

I've actually been looking to rune a rise of the runelords, but I'm not sure how this kind of thing works in forum play, how are you doing it? Also, any chance you'd be willing to run kingmaker after this ended?

There's a chance but I'm finding play-by-post to be a very long process. It's taken us two months to get as far as it would have taken a live group to get in three sessions. This means the campaign will end a ways down the line so I can't speak to my schedule at that time.

It works by posting each day. I can link you to our threads so you can take a look. Roll20 can be used for rolls but we're a trustworthy group so I let people just tell me what they got. It works. We had a near-death already haha

I might be interested. But I have no experience with pbp. I have played the path and GMed Burnt Offerings. But I'm not sure how the pbp works. I'll have to think about it.

It's fairly easy. Slower paced. I screen shotted combat with markings showing where people moved.

Grouped initiative speeds up combat pretty awesomely.

Roll20 for maps.
Google groups for posts.
Myth-weavers for character sheets.
Trustworthy group so honor system for rolls.

I would appreciate this. Did you have any alterations to the main storyline you were already setting up?

Not the storyline. Here are the quirks, though.

The rogue is part of the Magnimar Thieves Guild, to which he has had no contact thus far and probably won't until the next book. He also apprenticed previously under the Sandpoint locksmith.

The only other minor detail I can recall needing some working is that I had to figure out a way that the only stables in town, a stable run by a ranger whose hated race is goblinoid, would stable a hobgoblin's donkey.

Well... that was remedied by the stable owner not being around when all hell broke loose, our hobgoblin (bobthak, son of billthak) jumped to arms, and then helped save the town. He tied up the donkey. After the raid (and a dead stablehand), he would have found the donkey, waited for the owner, and demanded payment.

He would grumble a lot but with the sheriff, ameiko, and even the whole town vouching for Bobthak there was little else he could do but let Bobthak stable his donkey (Although I'm not 100% certain we even covered that detail yet)

Lastly, I let Bobthak have cats. If combat occurs, they run off. He finds them later I have no intention of killing them unless it will make for some crazy story but I'm pretty sure that the player would be more upset by the cats than his character dying. He's great about player death but I think these cats are based on his real pets haha. With the understanding that they must act like normal cats, I give him control of them.

Everything else can be found in the book.

Who did that noble guy latch onto?

The female aasimar cleric. Surprise, surprise. He sort of talks down to everyone else. He has referred to their part in things as "Assisting this lovely creature." Also, using town gossip, he uses their names before having been introduced. Totally obnoxious. Love it.

lol

So, anything you want to see before you decide to hand it to me if I say yes?

And how are things progressing right now? Are they waiting for a GM, or what?

I private messaged you.
